Re:AHL2 Oct 2013 17:15
Hi jackd, Was a bit down until seeing AHL latest Est Nav figures +1.5. Agree the market makers are not daft, but they are certainly not always right also not fair by any means. We will soon see as the last time AHL was this level, Sept 26th, Man's price was 87.55.
So just done a quick sp on figures for Sept 30th taken from Man web site relating to Man AHL funds with Nav figures), 18 in all.

And the AHL overall Annual Return works out to +2.6%. Even omitting the negative funds only improves it to +3.58%. Not a lot although a slight overall improvement on last year.
As you say, it is the trend funds have not been good. Agree with your earlier comments as computers are out on their own for the likes of data storage, speed of access and are reliable when treat properly but need to be controlled by expert human involvement.
I too was in a dilemma and thinking of jumping out with what I have left until I did the above sp and seeing today's Est Nav. Now looking into my reserves to buy more as this is way under priced based on the majority of it's fundamentals.
