My impression is that it is a general comms heads-up of what is coming down the pike. ie….it is a discussion with shareholders held before the stream of news that will emerge between now and the AGM. If they were to drop that sort of presentation into the middle of the newsflow, it would be hijacked by shareholders wanting to probe one aspect or another - and the intention was to give a balanced view of where the company is headed.

My impression is that management know much more than they are making public about the way their products actually work and that there are live discussions about deals that are simply awaiting the data readouts. Keep an eye on the Trinity valuations as news emerges, because I think those will turn out to be a key datum line for deal-making.

I watched it live then watched it again. First time round I missed the comment about the “look-see” investigation of Modi-1 to see the extent of T-cell penetration in resected tumours. I had rather assumed this had been done already, as there was a resection cohort in the original study but, as noted here recently, there has been no information released on that. So I wonder whether that was done as planned and this “look-see” is investigating some slightly different aspect.

Either way, I got the impression from the way Phil dealt with it that this “look-see” is more significant than it appeared at first glance. Possibly to do with the mechanism of action? And possibly validating some form of fresh discovery?

I was interested to see how Phil dealt with a couple of my questions, especially pointing out the possibility that the SCIB melanoma opportunity may extend back to include even a preventative vaccine. That is a pretty important point and he also highlighted it in relation to the upcoming conference presentation that will expand on one of the slides shown today which (effectively) seems to be pointing towards high rates of complete recovery which may indeed lead towards a “cure”.

Also quite interested in the comments about registration trial countries and the possibilities for fast track approvals in various jurisdictions - because they are plainly giving close attention to that in their study design.

Cleaner….why not just email the company anyway asking if the questions can be addressed anyway? Or ask them during the presentation, as advised?

I'll be surprised if there is no RNS tomorrow, given the conference this weekend too....

I don’t bother asking about the Glymabs being developed by Genmab, because there are formal updates given to the company only annually I think and between times it is going to be mostly guesswork 🤷‍♂️ unless there is an event to be RNS’d.

My four:

1. I note you are now intendingTWO antibodies be developed in-house (lung and epithelial). What have you discovered recently that has led to this stronger focus on in-house development?

2. Scancell is now claiming to be a developer of vaccines “for a Cancer-free future”. Where is the data on complete recoveries to back that up for iSCIB1+ and Modi1? What are the clinical expectations for Modi-2 and what are the plans for bringing it to the clinic?

3. What guidance can you give on the number of NDAs signed in relation to the SCIB1/iSCIB1+ trial data and what are the partnering options for the registration trial? Is there a preference for the location of these trials and what are the expectations for achieving fast-track registrations in UK and/or USA?

4. Given the welcome news about the partnering with the NHS Vaccine Launch Pad, what are the implications for the timeline for a rollout of off-the-shelf vaccines to NHS patients in the event of success being demonstrated in the trial? What is the potential for accelerated approval for NHS use?

I have a feeling we may be on the cusp of a slew of developments.

I wonder whether Scancell is on the way to being picked out in the stock market as a potential winner for British science and as an investment which ticks Rachel Reeves’ boxes for pension fund investing in British risk capital.

Not only do we have conference appearances in the coming days and the investor presentation, but I have also been contacted by a broadsheet journalist interested in talking to me about a pro-Scancell comment I made on one of their investment articles.

Will keep you posted if there are any developments on that front…..

Thanks chester. That would in part account for it…..but they have been accumulating good data for many months and will have had resected samples to analyse for well over a year at this point…..and I suspect that will have led to some very interesting discoveries in terms of the in-tumour effects.

WTP, I’ve lodged a few questions in this area for Thursday. We’ll see what they say. I think they have made some discoveries that have yet to be made public in relation to how these vaccines work and on whom……

…..remember, for example, that there was a Modi-1 cohort who were going to have tumours removed surgically, some six weeks after being vaccinated. We have heard nothing whatsoever about what the analysis of the removed tissue has shown.

I’m surprised nobody else seems to think this is significant upgrade on their historic claims…….

You’ll recall that Phil was pretty focused on in-house development of antibodies - so I wonder what they now know that has prompted that more aggressive stance?

I’m not surprised in the slightest that it is easy to sell blocks. In my view, we are looking at professional fund buying…..plenty of appetite but also taking a measured approach. For the moment.

There are also some interesting nuances of (I think) changed language in the company description:

I don’t think the company will be independent in 3 years time. I think it will have been taken over at £3-4 a share.
