In London it is the market cap that matters most (for many it is £100mn minimum) but also the free float and normal dealing volumes.

Many funds would avoid because it would be difficult to trade out of a position, so they mostly hold positions they can LTBH.

Consolidation unnecessary and possibly unhelpful whilst listed in London.

But if/when there is a NASDAQ listing, consolidation would be certain.

That is simply untrue, chester18. GenMab can do whatever they like, whenever they like.

Of course the more data, the closer buyer/seller valuations may become - but as more positive data emerges the competitive risk also rises. A buyer would be foolish to simply sit on the sidelines and see valuable assets to them be bought up by others.

My view is simply that we can have no idea what discussions go on. All we know is that more data is close to emerging and that any company that is unaware of the Scope trial must have had their eyes closed on the conference circuit last year.

Remind me of the potential milestone totals due if either of the Scancell products comes to market….

It strikes me that, on a continual basis, GenMab will have a price at which it might make sense to take Scancell out. Perhaps that is only eg 30p per share today, whilst Redmile/Vulpes would want 60p…..but at some point a deal will become do-able with GenMab and possibly others.

Remember, shareholders will get no prior warning of that. Managements know each other so well that heads of terms could be agreed in days, once there is broad agreement on price. The Board is now correctly composed to be able to do deals very quickly and with absolute certainty of execution (since they basically speak for half the shares).

If they were to wait for “all the data” as chester18 appears to think, there would be no need for a deal - it would be proven commercially.

Capital constraints continue to limit the breadth of the product range that can be developed. It is not (as burble and ruck note) a lack of efficacy. These are novel treatments, with plenty of potential cross-applications that are well above our paygrade to enumerate. But proper scientists will see the potential and, if the range of Scancell’s activities fit well with the strategy of a much bigger company, it would make sense to take it all out this year.

But price could prove an issue. Redmile won’t sell cheaply. Nor will Vulpes.

IMO this is all pointing towards handing the company over to a major pharma with deep enough pockets to accelerate development on multiple fronts simultaneously. It is literally in no-one’s interests to sit on IP whilst the patent protection runs down.

I remain of the view that a whole company bid is likely in the short to medium term.
