Just on the topic of AI it is indeed going to pollute every aspect of human life, so that people won’t be able to use their own critical faculties.

Some 18 months ago I spent a few hours on a plane sitting next to an AI expert from Microsoft (apparently one of the top three in the country). I formed a very clear view on its potential then - both for good and for evil.

You can search the Daily Telegraph letters archive if you wish, and find a letter from me warning against the abuse of AI to interfere in politics, which is certainly happening already (hence Labour’s planned campaign of brainwashing directed at 16-18 year old new voters).

I’ve no problem with people posting AI rubbish (which I shall ignore), PROVIDED THAT it is disclosed as AI prominently and transparently. The evidence of recent weeks is that people don’t bother to do that - they just cut and paste. So I will be blocking everyone I see doing this, as their input is planly suspect and devalued.

Your complete failure to disclose the context and your exact instruction to the AI bot. Also no separation between your comments (if any) and the mindless AI guff.

Literally any fool can get AI to generate something - but it literally adds nothing for anyone who has been paying attention.

He’s anti-AI for the same reason as me, I suspect. It is utterly worthless to investors and, worse than that, has the capacity to seriously mislead.

AI is not a tool that looks forward and speculates about future events - it is locked in the past, based off what has happened.

If you wanted to ask “how did Scancell get here?”, AI would be fine. But it is utterly useless in relation to where Scancell is going.

Furthermore, asking it dumb questions and then posting here, simply degrades the quality and usefulness of discussion on these boards.

There are two things that will have big share price impact: industry buying interest and institutional buying interest. It doesn’t much matter what retail does - there will always be people willing to trade based on charts or other imagined methods.

The difficulty is assessing when industry and institutions will show their hand. I suspect they will all “arrive” at much the same time.

There is a very simple point to be made on that: Aminex is NOT the operator. This means that spud timing etc is not in their control. I’d be certain the board are every bit as keen to get on with it as shareholders are.

In my opinion they will spud when the pipeline work actually starts on the ground.

I couldn’t give the slightest toss about anything AI has to say - and am more than likely to block anyone who pollutes this board with such timewasting nonsense. On the other hand, interviews with the current CEO are of extreme interest, especially when they provide indications of the potential upside, as is the case here!!

Over the past year, Scancell have been increasingly pointing out that we have an off-the-shelf, non-personalised vaccine. The reason for that seems clear: the costs and relative lack of public confidence in mRNA are disadvantages, especially in the USA……which just happens to be where many of the major pharmas are based.

Much may depend on the politics and options facing US companies, as well as on the trial results, of course. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see competition emerging to do a deal with Scancell, for the vaccines. Neither would I rule out a de facto auction for a development deal by year end.

You were specifically asking about the Board, which was the basis of my response. Important, I think, to draw a distinction between the whole Board, the non-execs …..and the execs. The execs will undoubtedly be the best informed and receive regular updates - but I’d doubt those are as often as daily or even weekly (will defer to others on that point). But, importantly, I think the exact “current situation” as reported to Scancell will be known only to a very small number of execs (with the Board updated at the formal meetings).

None of this matters much, as the “mood music” is clearly positive - or they would stop promoting.

So, institutional shuffling. Perhaps a movement of residual Calculus (or Vulpes?) positions from one of their funds into another?

Re the BoD I think chester’s view will be roughly right. I strongly doubt that NEDs have any numbers provided to them outside of Board meetings, because the actual figures will change continually and they have no need to know them. It is probably different for the top executive team, because they need to be planning ahead - but I’d strongly suspect that within the company their comms stick pretty firmly to the (outdated) trial data to avoid accidental disclosures or confusion between people.

So, no, I don’t think the Board have the running figures.

However, I’d be equally certain that the Board all know qualitative information, such as “its all going great” or “we’ve had more complete responses” (or possibly less encouraging things)……because until the data set is complete, they simply need to know the direction of travel - and it is this which supports recent social media comments, rather than hard info at this point. But be assured that, at every formal board meeting, execs will be passing on what they know.

My guess is that there is a board meeting next week (pre-holidays), and that may account for yesterday’s volume.

Wonder what sort of deal Modi is there to close?…..

It is worth going back to the valuation methodology employed in October 2024, which Trinity have conspicuously not updated in their latest note, pending trial outcomes.

The chances of success given in that document were one in 8 for Modi-1, one in ten to one in 20 for the Immunobody platform, one in 20 to one in 30 for the Glymabs and one in 50 for Avidimab.

If the trial results lead to Standard of Care status being expected, then surely this conservative set of riskings will be swiftly binned - and the 32p per share valuation estimate could very easily become 70-80p per share by Q4, especially if Modi-1 looks promising.
