…..so…….now what happens to the oil price…..and to producers who can still get their oil out?

Just for the record, Tullow was in auction just before the open (25 bid, 17.4 offered) and PHAR. moved to 19 bid, 21.2 ask.

Just for comparison, at the same time, Tullow was 16 bid, 23.50 offered…….. despite having dropped c.20% yesterday on collapse of their merger talks.

Interesting to see that the marketmakers are slow to put an offer price up today…..according to the above, nobody has a price in (as at 7.40). Is that, in part, waiting on the Middle East?

It is many years since the oil markets had to seriously consider the potential impact of a closure, but blocking in Saudi and Qatari exports as well as their own would have some very major impacts on global prices….especially if it was accompanied by a shooting war and threats against third country assets.

All the commentary in recent days has nodded to the risk but assumes they won’t rush. So it they were to do this in the next week or so, there would be a big shock effect.

The key issue is pipeline construction. Once that starts, everything else will start.

My guess is that a confirmed agreement will be announced at the same time as the trial results and is being negotiated under an NDA. I suspect that they have yet to dot the i’s and cross the t’s, but that there is already an agreement in principle.

Given that the trial results have been substantially clear for a few weeks (barring the very latest to start the trial), it will already be clear that a registration trial is fully justified.

My guess is that something will be slid out at about 6pm tomorrow night. I’d guess about 6 million have changed hands so far, so size will depend of the total size of the line of stock being sold. It is all being negotiated - and quite professionally (especially re the timing of disclosures, with large late reported trades - both yesterday and even bigger today).

The 25p figure is an analyst valuation based on what is factually known today……with no account taken of potential uplifts from upcoming data.

Can’t agree with that. If they have all the SCIB1 data, they shouldn’t be sitting on it (unless there are live deal discussions, perhaps).

They could release a “Good news on SCIB1 and more good news expected next month on iSCIB1+” update.

By my reckoning (based off Lindy’s interview following the 18/11/24 SCOPE trial update) the 43rd patient in Cohort 1 should have reached Week 25 a week ago. Allowing some time to collate and present the data, I’d think an update is now imminent.

It is looking increasingly likely to me that Scancell will be taken out. The big boys are getting their ducks in a row for a step change in standard of care. I don’t think we’ll get to see all the trial results without getting some sort of deal at the same time…..or before.
