Salut r1234, have a look at this euribor 12 month graph. Looks like Italy will be paying up around 6% come January !
At that rate, no excess hurry to be paid & it might save it from being squandered pre-drill.

NH, might not an EOG/Vermillion tie up, somewhat similar to the RKH/Navitas, be a possible route.

Vermillion recently announced an interest in a deep Corrib drill & have all the pipelines, onshore facilities, permits, etc, to enable a potentially successful tie up with Inishkea.

And Minister Ryan, can hardly say no to some more Vermillion (ish) gas !

I have been hearing all week that the futures for nat gas in Europe have risen to between 300-400$ bop-e.

Does that not make our 10-20-30 % ? nat gas, way more valuable & so necessary to develop asap?

Even if there is an end of the Russian war, it totally changes all the old "investment case" calculations.

Swiss, you are surely right about Ryan mentioning some "ECT arbitration", I needed several pastis re-fills during the 3 hrs & 50 mins hearing, for medicinal purposes. Any idea of the time stamp, for a re-listen ?

Was astonished how Ryan repeatedly insisted on maintaining all energy commitments made to permitted Data Centres, whilst at the same time, he totally ignores/delays/frustrates all the legally valid exploration licences. Manyana, is right on this one, they take the licence fee but deny any & all progress, so that's just one more reason to sue the Republic of Ireland under the ECT for EOG/Inishkea & for PVR using Irish/EU law for Barryroe.

Also amazed to hear almost nothing about oil, petrol, diesel & coal, the most used sources of energy in Ireland.

Why were the oil, gas & coal industries not represented, if the title of this hearing is to be believed.

The lunatics are most certainly in charge of the asylum.

After 3 hrs & 40 mins of electricity only experts, circle jerking, Senator Tim Lombard from Cork, earned his crust & finally asked questions about Inishkea & more directly about native Barryroe oil & gas for energy security, plus old Kinsale pipeline usage.

Ryan, who I must say, generally spoke quite well, except when the eyes went all swively, when totally lying.

He stated, he believes after 130 well drilled, only 3 commercial finds in Irish waters, so only a 50/1 chance of finding oil or gas in Ireland, so its only a waste of money to drill more, etc, etc, though he will honour all existing licences !!!! My Arse.

Several mentions of the ECT (Energy Charter Treaty) but only related to leaving it, Ryan prefers to move in step with EU to change the ECT to ease the rise of renewables, "no mention" of the Rockhopper €190 million plus interest, ~ € 250€ M.

All to foolish to know, like Italy, that it takes 10 years to exit the legal recourse from being a member.

And if Ryan thinks that being clever & not denying the licence, but never authorising them, the way he put Inishkea in Licence Limbo, he obviously has not read the Vattenfal decision. Unnecessary delays & opaque decision making, are full grounds for an ECT case.

Thanks to all for your inputs, we seem to have ranges from € 242M to €257M award & interest payment.

My own "calculation" using BB3's annual euribor values came to ~ €249.6 M. for an end Jan23 payment.

And using SBP & R1234's sunk costs logic & "award" tax implications, the "broker report" taxing at 20%, might significantly underestimate the final value per share of the award.
