A thank you, in recent times to Swiss & Brenador.

However, the majority seem to forget Eamon Ryan's longstanding raison d'etre.

Ryan is a dyed in the wool ideologue & extreme green zealot.

He was made a complete fool of, over the Corrib gas field licence, he died politically for years but was reborn on the promise, that if in power again, that that would never happen again.

Now he hold all the power cards, either struggling FF & FG collapse the government & risk an election or he rules the roost.

If FF & FG collapse the government over Barryroe &/or a potential "money provision", they risk loosing to a SF, Left, Green & Independent coalition.

Alternatively, a FF & FG and Barryroe friendly Independant's coalition might remain in government for 2 1/2 more years & pass all the relevant licences.

That seems to be the best case for any Barryroe progress.

I believe that Barryroe is the very "Hamburger Hill" that Ryan is prepared to defend & if necessary die on, but in his case it might be better named "Veggie Burger Hill" !!!!

it seems that Manmentia & DumbDrew have gone to ground after the 85 Vs 66 Government Confidence vote win.

Who could have possibly have predicted it :-) Oh yes, normally turkeys never got a chance to vote for Christmas.

Imagine, an ex-Sinn Fein TD, who left Sinn Fein due to her anti-abortion stance in the 8 Amendment Vote & now runs as an Independant TD, is from a turf county & intends to vote down the current FF/FG/Green coalition.

You might as well tell us Boyd Barret might vote against them too.

Its unimaginable that enough non-Sinn Fein TD's will vote down the government, maybe force an election & risk their 2.5 more years of super salaries & future pensions & tons of perks, for doing F/A.

It would be worse than turkeys voting for Christmas.

Best case scenario, for Barryroe is that the coalition survives & new Taoiseach Leo & FF drop the greens & go into coalition with pro Barryroe Independants, even the Laurel & Hardy Raes.

And while my rosé chills, Ryan is very far from "brain dead". He is a very successful pension & property multi millionaire, Green Party Leader, senior government minister & total green ideologue, who will never change his stance & who has 100% success in blocking all fossil fuel plans in Ireland for years.

We shareholders should all look in the mirror to see what brain dead really looks like.

I think everybody panicked abour TUI needs to zoom out a little, most international travel shares are down between 5-10% today due to several worldwide interest rate rises. And tomorrow is a triple witching day, so the algo's are working flat out, they always find the silver lining in every cloud.

France had to pay very high prices for electricity imports because they had the coldest night in April, since 1947 !!!

And France bended its knee to nobody in the supporting renewables, its too busy flogging its own nuclear designs to other countries, despite Flammenville being 10 yrs behind schedule & billions over budget, Finland too & leaks in China.

If you even properly read your own link, you can see that France gets 70% of its electricity from nuclear.

And France has 50+ nuclear power plants, but half of them are down between covid delayed scheduled maintenance & 10 with a rusting problem around their cooling systems (& probably more of the same models to follow).

Few plants have even been de-commissioned, as it costs a fortune & all the waste has to be stored above ground.

Now 2 days later, the spring sun is back at 16C, here in the south of France & France will be exporting energy as usual.

As for solar & wind energy, France is awash with both, yet barely use them.

And I pay 20c/kwhr all week & 14c/kwhr all weekend & national holidays in France, half the price of Germany

I do think the Irl-Fr connection will be massively important & usefull in exporting lots of our peak wind & lowering our regular wind output curtailment. And if Ireland have to pay a large premium for forward contracts on French nucleur electricity, its probably still cheaper that the fines of up to 500 Million we may face for failing to meet our CO2 EU targets. Not sure if imports count for reduced CO2 ?

Anyway, some new discoveries & one potentially huge news story !!!

It seems the Norwegians want to invest a fortune in off-shore Ireland, only not in our "vice" of choice. And it ties up nicely with the new French interconnector & possible with the Aker Norwegian investment in SuperNode & its superconducting trans european grid plans & may give Minister Ryan some political cover too !

And to add insult to injury, I found a very usefull site, offering all the long term Capacity Outputs for UK off-shore wind output. It seems that the latest & greatest wind farms are achieving over 50% and even bigger technological advances are coming very soon.

I still think Ireland needs a 10-20 yrs ongoing native supply of oil & gas, plus all the jobs & tax revenue, but logic and common sense are still in the eye of the beholder & not the shareholder !!!
