Where do you get the £400k figure from? It would amount to roughly £26k avg pa which a company the size of IBM simply wouldn't bother with. And in any case I am doubtful that number would be available to investors.

Amara Mining (AMA): 2015 Price Channel Target at 14p One of the happier aspects of the year to date has been the tentative recovery in mining minnows. One of the sturdier of these would appear to be Amara Mining, on the basis that the shares have served up an extended saucer base since the early autumn. The view at this stage is that things are looking increasingly encouraging, a point underlined by the way that the 200 day moving average at 10.1p is just being approached as the week ends. The ideal scenario is that for today or Monday we shall be treated to a clearance of the 200 day line, something which would open up the next stage of the rebound here. Indeed, it should be the case that above this key trend determining feature there will be a new leg to the upside within an overall rising trend channel in place since July last year. The top of the channel has its resistance line projection running as high as 14p, with this regarded as being the target to expect over the next 4-6 weeks.

Thanks pabs for posting. Lets hope they don't take as long to optimise the capex etc as releasing the DFS! Numis comments are encouraging for sure. The Chinese know how to play a waiting game but clearly if the gold price continues to drive northwards that is only going to increase the value of the asset here and could force their hand.

Thanks for your replay and appreciate a more detailed appraisement: Kolar have two main assets: 1. The right of first refusal on the planned govt tender of BGML - to be fair you are correct to say there appears to be little movement here at present. Perhaps a rising gold price will focus the attention of the Indian government a bit more on this sector though. We'll see. 2. Much more significant in the short term is the 23% stake that Kolar holds in GMSI. GMSI hold dozens of licences in India and were the only company awarded a mining licence in India in recent years. No mean feat. GMSI have undertaken a major drilling programme at the Jonnagiri deposit. There is already a JORC 700k ozs resource before the recent drilling. GMSI have stated a target of 1m ozs but elsewhere on their website between 2-5m ozs has been stated. Kolar have valued their stake in GMSI at around 2.8p and thats before the release of the drilling results. I expect the resource to be upgraded, possibly significantly. So IMO there is clearly value here. So I think a lot is pinning on Jonnagiri. Kolar are still in an offer period. We'll have to see what the outcome of the strategic review is and how they're going to go forward. They will clearly need to raise further funds at some point in the next year despite much cost cutting but if Jonnagiri delivers along with a strong gold price that will not be a problem.

Friday always a good day to release significant news as we should get some wider press and media coverage over the weekend. A few traders keeping this held around 10-10.5 because they are not focused on fundamentals. Im confident this will kick on from here.

We are now sitting more or less on the 200 dma. A key point. IF we can close above 10.375 today I think we could be well and truly in breakout mode.

A bit dim. You cannot GET funding for a development project UNTIL you have proved its economics. Congratulations to John McGloin and his team for proving up EXCELLENT economics at Yaoure. The capital cost has been substantially reduced. The world is drying up of top class gold discoveries. The Gold will most certainly be needed for future supply. With these economics someone will stump up the money - no doubt in my mind.

Indeed and given little pre market movement it looks like it's gone somewhat unnoticed. So an opportunity to top up or get in. Make no mistake, even at the current gold price these are excellent figures and as usual complete leverage against any further gold increase.

A guy called John Cornford wrote an article on Master Investor about Goldies the other day. Link below. He wrote a short piece about CGH which was interesting. He clearly knows his onions. The recent announcement from Chaarat Gold (CGH) regarding its planned Kygyzstan gold mine illustrates the key importance for investors of knowing how the four key metrics for a mine impact its value to shareholders. To recap, they are the IRR, NPV, capex, and market value of the shares – all relatively independent of one another so that knowing only one or two won’t help a judgement of the whole. "Chaarat has just published what look like excellent and exceptionally low $635/oz average cash costs to produce 4.7 million ounces over 18 years. However, at $1,250/oz gold the IRR is only a marginally attractive 15.3%. How so? Because the $684m initial capex is very large versus the $116m 8% NPV – which means a longer payback time than lenders will want. In its case, even a high operating margin won’t recoup the capital in a short enough time. Well I'm sure he has more knowledge and experience than I but I beg to disagree for different reasons. He is looking purely at economics which he admits are attractive and capex which is not. But this is about a lot more than pure economics. Its also strategic, political, and its a lot of gold at a decent grade which WILL be dug out the ground. No question. He's neglecting to consider that the Chinese have IMO deliberately over egged the capex (hence Dekels pique) in order to get Charaat CHEAPER. Its pretty obvious really. Dekel is adamant that the capex could be considerably cheaper and I'm sure he's correct. So its tactical on the part of the Chinese to negotiate a more attractive figure from their point of view. The $m question is how much will they offer?

Looks like a buy to me.

At some point, as Gold inevitably keeps rising now against the dire global macroeconomics, some Indian govt minds are going to become focused on this neglected industry. It will be difficult to ignore in a gold bull market and the opportunities available in an under explored country rich in this particular resource. Kolar will be perfectly placed to benefit.
