Holding Amara for the proposed takeover is long term an absolute winner because you'll be buying into a high production mid tier miner with huge amount of ozs in the ground plus substantial exploration upside from there. All for the price of a cheap rated junior! But you've also got the additional bonus now of a potential counter bid. Nevsun? Endeavour? Or perhaps even Randgold?

Looks seriously bullish. Higher lows and consolidating at higher levels. If we can conclusively break $1250-1260 we're going to see another big surge higher taking the gold miners with it.

There's an article in Shares Mag apparently where John McGloin makes the comment about a counter bid. I think that could be significant. It sounds like an open invitation to me. ;)

Apparently Amara CEO has stated he wouldn't be surprised if there were a counter bid. Could explain the rise today. This could have further to go and I do believe some peeps have been to hasty in exiting.

A somewhat surprising but very welcome rise this morning considering the Perseus price was flat overnight. Intriguing.

With the greatest of respect I've been following this stock a great deal longer than your good self (based on your only posting recently). The BOD have fallen short on literally every measure since the flotation. Processing Plant. Sales. Orders. You name it. Oh they've got plenty of marble but they just can't shift it. Not everything's been their fault but I really think that Chris should've stuck to music.

Let's look at the SP performance shall we. If you were to believe Stilo 'sunshine' loser you'd think the SP performance has been consistently dire. But no, Over a 10 year timeframe long term investors here have done pretty well to very well. Between, for example, 2006 and 2008, the SP varied between 1.25p and 3p. The SP is now 5.37p. This would've produced a return of between 56% and 325% for anyone invested since that time. So it's rubbish to say this company has not produced good returns for shareholders over the long term. That's ultimately what it's about for investors in penny shares, capital gains, and that is not a bad performance at all compared to much of the crap on AIM. I look forward to further solid improving share price performance over the coming years and if this produces the returns going forward it has in the past it will be a good investment.

Oh I forgot to tell you that there is a serial poster on this board who has a rather unhealthily massive issue with this company. The assumption, reasonable enough, is that he has lost a heap of money here and this is his only route available now to try and trash the company. Strange because he may still be a holder but he is a bitter holder if so with a very large average. So large its not worth selling I suspect. If you stick around you'll hear a lot more from this fruitcake. He repeats the same stuff time and again. Myself and lukehere are the only two that give him any attention.

Looks like JP Morgan have slightly increased their stake. Was 7.36% (according to my morningstar research) now 7.55%. Not much but positive all the same.

We've now moved to a clear premium on the Perseus SP (exc warrants). Does this mean the market is starting to believe there could be a counter offer. Exciting times here.
