Trek - firstly Mologic are NOT part of the UK-RTC. Mologic are making the ELisa Lab Test. UK-RTC are making the POC Test.

Secondly, the article in the DM specifically states that the new test has been adapted from an existing HIV POC test. The ONLY company in the consortium that makes such a test is ODX. It is called the Visitect CD4 Test. Research it. It measures the number of CD4 cells in the blood which is an effective way of measuring severity of the HIV Virus in HIV patients.

Well if ODX hadn’t originally planned on issuing an announcement of any kind tomorrow they will certainly have to now. It will be necessary to clarify the current position. We have to assume that this information has ‘leaked’ in some way. It would be fascinating to know the source. We know how the government love to leak stuff out in advance of an official announcement. But just aslikely it’s come out of Oxford University itself. I imagine they are not so highly concerned about the commerciality/price sensitivity of this news. After all, the RTC consists of five bodies and just one of them is actually a listed company. Guess who? ;)

So Omega management now have to draw something up to tell the market tomorrow. This may have forced them into saying something before they would’ve preferred to. We don’t know if they have actually reached ‘design freeze’ quite yet. It would seem this breakthrough has come from Oxford but highly significantly, and no one has mentioned this yet, they are adapting a POC kit used for HIV testing for the new test. That can only be Omegas Visitect CD4 Test because they are the only participant in the RTC who has such a test - which is also CE marked.

So it’s going to be very interesting what they are able to say tomorrow but there’s little doubt that something big has happened.

Not just mass scale antibody testing will be required but potentially multiple times per individual.

There is going to be a huge market place out there and plenty of room for different participants.

My own view is that when ODX/Mologic and ODX as part of UK-RTC roll out their testing kits that won’t be the end of the story. They will continue to improve the specificity and sensitivity of the tests over time. As this article suggests far from not needing antibody tests - which everyone of sound mind and not overinvested in AVCT or NCYY knows - it is entirely possible that multiple tests could be required over a period of time to determine the overall accuracy and to get a more accurate data picture to assist vaccine development. So multiple tests means multiplying sales to, ouch.

Oh the intention is VERY clear YB. But we've all seen it all before. And of course it also betrays a total lack of research and understanding about the two companies. But hey I'm not even going to even bother wasting my time any further on it.

And just to add that, as of this moment ODX are not involved with any arrangement with Mologic on a POC Test or a huge me care test (which, as I said previously are the SAME thing.

The MTA agreement is for the ELISA Lab Test.

This might change but at the moment that is the position.

A POC antibody Test and a home care test are one of the same thing. Point of Care and Point of Need are the same thing.

It's very obvious that some posters are getting the two different tests (POC Lateral Flow and Elisa Lab Test) confused in terms of ODX's involvement with Mologic.

I think more research is needed by some ;)

muldoon - as far as we know there is NO ODX involvement. Not until we have been told otherwise. However, we can speculate.

We do know the companies (ODX and Mologic) now have a working relationship. We do know the two CEO's have been having discussions and to quote Colin King "while talking other matters" they agreed upon a manufacturing arrangement for the Lab Test. It's possible that ODX might be assisting them on some fashion with their new Lateral Test manufacturing facility. After all ODX have the knowledge and expertise which I don't think Mologic currently have (in manufacturing terms).

A Rivaldo post has attracted my attention to this company. Looks interesting but I will monitor for the time being and see if 'George' continues to offload ;)

Scharnhorst - you have clearly failed to read the announcement correctly. Where does it say they will be manufacturing the tests 'not for profit' Where Scharnhorst?

Tracking the delayed reporting trades it appears we now have a buyer picking up stock in 25k blocks. Rather than the other way round which was the case a few days back.

I thought the announcement might have dropped today but I think it will now almost certainly be on Monday. The announcement I think is pending is that ODX will partner up with Mologic to produce their POC test which, like their elisa lab test, has reached design freeze and is 'ready' to be manufactured. The only question mark is how will this impact or tie up with the UK-RTC? Well, perhaps Mologic will either join the consortium or the agreement will be separate, and in addition to, the MOU that ODX have with the UK-RTC. I cannot see any restriction on ODX making this additional arrangement because there is not yet any binding contract/legal agreement with the UK-RTC which prevents them from doing so.

Why do I think this agreement is going to be announced? There are clues out there. The first is in this link:

In the above announcement Mologic confirm they have completed design freeze for their POC test (yes Piper they have one!)
Who would they choose to partner up with to manufacture their test? A company that they have a relationship with already perhaps? A company that has proven POC lateral flow test expertise certainly. They are applying for the CE mark.
The next clue is Colin King discloses when discussing the lab test that it had only come about whilst discussing 'other matters' with the Mologic CEO. For me, those 'other matters' surely could only have been regarding the POC test. But at that stage they weren't quite ready as ODX are having to work out how they will scale up their manufacturing capability for the POC test to accommodate Mologic. Colin King has admitted as such.

Finally, in the Mologic link I posted above they say and I quote:

"Mologic will be announcing several critical milestones in the coming week, including open access publication of the full data and additional results."

And there you have it folks. For me the jigsaw puzzle is solved. Next week is going to be very very interesting indeed.

Totally agree. The market has not yet fully cottoned onto the potential here. After our two initial spikes it all became about II sellers and various doubts about whether they can deliver.

Both those factors imo are shortly to be put to bed.

The last three days may be looked back upon as good load up opportunity days but you’d only do that if you’d done your homework. Some are happy to take crumbs off the table and pat themselves on the back. The rest of us know what is on the menu and intend to eat all the courses.

Not sure about the Government. Ultimately this is Matt Han**** we're talking about. But I guess from the Governments POV they have several irons in the fire and Mologic had gone about their development earlier and separate from the later formed UK RTC. But remember two things. First, Boris visited Mologic a few weeks back so its def on their radar. Secondly, Colin King mentioned he was discussing other matters with the Mologic CEO a couple of weeks back...? Maybe there is some kind of agreement/collaboration pending there too? But I am just speculating of course.
