I seem to remember someone observed that Cuddothisnow must have sold his around the time of the spike!
Personally I appreciate different views here, esp from people who own / have owned Eve. There's another BB where it's just a bunch of angry derampers and there's no discussion so no value in reading it.
A few weeks ago I copied some review figures from Trustpilot, comparing Eve and Emma (which I once read is doing well). It's very rough analysis but lets assume a similar % of buyers bother to write reviews, and that there's a delay of a few weeks between purchase and review.
I've been back today and it is somewhat disheartening (but lets see what happens in Autumn and winter now Argos et al are kicking-in).

Jamieh22cc - nice to hear from you! The report seemed to have something for everyone, whatever their point of view. Yes, I did notice the warnings at the end of the report.. As I've written before, time will tell.

Since June-end, the mattress maker has partnered with Argos and Dunelm, already generating revenue, added its products to a further 104 Next stores, and secured a contract with Homebase expected to launch imminently.
Jamie Sturrock, Eve’s chief executive, said that progress was “good” and the company will seek “organic improvements and inorganic opportunities" in its rebuild strategy.
Finncap market analyst Peter Smedley said that this was “always going to be a transitional year as EVE continues to lay the foundations for its ‘rebuild’ strategy”, and noted Eve’s openness to acquisition opportunities.
I'm sure you'll follow the share and I DON'T doubt that you'd like it to succeed even if you consider that an impossibility. It doesn't actually have to go up much for me to be level again though some will have lost a stack at the current price.

The arguments are well rehearsed. However, it's a fairly illiquid stock and an announcement down the line to the effect that sales at Argos / Homebase etc are going well would change things immediately; a few decent buys on the back of good news and the price would rise again. As soon as one set of figures are out, we seem to be waiting for the next ones a few months later. As you say, there's a (+/- a bit) year's cash, which is something to be grateful for.

No webcast yet this time. Was lone last September. Maybe it will come and would be of interest.
If revenue doesn't increase with the Homebase / Next / Argos links then we'll know for sure in the next figures. (I personally find it harder to see how it won't increase than how it will increase.)

Apart from some cautionary 'notes to accountants', which are sobering, they write – mostly – that they are really pretty chipper about the future. It does seems like they've turned the ship now and just somewhat choppy water ahead; it could turn out ok if it's not ice-bergs and mines.

I was nervous of the Simba deal. What happens when you merge a PLC with a private company? Am glad the shares are back trading. Sales figures obviously disappointing though.

Could be bonkers but just bought some more.. media say Sleep were in the stronger position so if merger failed it's because Eve walked away. I do believe James Sturrock wants this to work. Simba initiated the talks; might be one less competitor before long.

Does that exclude the possibility of merger news prior to 26/9...

Is there even the slightest chance they can 'merge' as a LTD and the EVE shares never come back for trading?

sales update must be out soon. Maybe they want to announce sales figures and (possible) agreement simultaneously. Last year it was 20th Sept and 2017, 13 Sept – at a quick search anyway

I asked AFTER they stopped selling. Three Dreams' staff didn't understand why they no longer sold them. I said I was considering buying and yet was worried by them no longer being available at Dreams, and had they had bad feedback? They more or less answered that Eve's had been good sellers and they weren't aware of any reason for the policy change or that I should take it as a bad sign. Not one try to talk me around to a model they do sell but I'd been quite clear that I was interested in an Eve.

Just a supposition but I imagine Argos would only sell a mattress from a company which they expect to be around for a while as they – Argos – would be responsible under consumer law for sorting out any problems; it's the seller and not the manufacturer that you go back to with any problems.
When the arrangement was cancelled I phoned sales people at three different Dreams' stores and all said Eve was a good seller.
We sleep on an original Eve mattress each night and far more comfortable than previous (Ikea) mattress. It happens to be why I bought the modest stake I have..

You're right, and quite a bit cheaper than Simbas at Argos which look like they have been sold for a while (more than 12,000 Simba reviews at Argos.co.uk)

Not read it but interesting that sleep is becoming so fashionable.

So let's hope that some of us can get at least break-even when news comes out at 7am one day soon.
Premature I know but what's the MOST optimistic SP possible, if everything in our wildest dreams comes true? I will sell a large chunk on any good news whatsoever, but I'd also like to hang on to some stock longer-term, just in case this does ultimately turn out quite well. It's been quite a ride and hardly worth it to simply break-even.
Yes, I am an optimist. Apparently, optimists live longer, even if they lose money on EVE; 'After decades of research, a new study links optimism and prolonged life. Researchers have found that individuals with greater optimism are more likely to live longer and to achieve 'exceptional longevity,' that is, living to age 85 or older' – so happy to speculate about best scenario rather than the worst case.

How does it work; will the inevitable announcement – one way or the other – definitely come outside trading hours? If that's 7am we get an hour before trading begins again, or news arrives after the market closes and we get a night to mull things over?
