My top-up at 16:20hrs yesterday might have been better timed.

To be honest, I can't remember Amazon's book prices. They were definitely more convenient; quicker and to the door. Eve is convenient now..
Looking through rose tinted spectacles I can see Eve selling a lot of sleep products even if not their alarm clock, which I can no longer locate.

Just passed the point I'd have been stop-lossed out, had I not cancelled the order. Got stop-lossed out of AVCT at 54p and then saw what happened. I hope this follows a similar path upwards, soon as results are out.

They do do a lot of furniture but mainly bed frames of course, along with bedding / sheets / pillows and pillow cases. Amazon started off mainly being a book seller didn't it? That would be nice!
When I mentioned Brentford Nylons, I was thinking of their sheets and not the nylon shirts. Yuk.

Would agree with everything you say but would add that Eve is selling a lot more than 'just' mattresses these days. I won't spend time looking now but wasn't it something like 25% (and increasing) turnover comes from 'other' things. They can presumably sell a lot more of those things and widen their range, so compete with off-line stores there too; off-line will probably be subdued for the foreseeable. Showing my age but perhaps they could aim to be an upmarket 'Brentford Nylons' of the 2020s and beyond?

Eve have said that sales have been adversely affected (wasn't their word 'soft'?) so I'd be just be happy if it's just not 'that soft' when news comes out. My own instinct is that Eve now has the wind in its sails (& sales) relative to the competition. I hope that's good enough.

I'll tell them to buy their own from Halfords, once I've shown just how essential a booster pack is!

Many thanks indeed for your views. You make excellent points with the backlog of MOTs etc.
When I bought in 2017 the shares were heading up, and then they – Halfords – announced a major investment plan for 5(?) years, and the shares dropped as investors weren't interested in waiting I guess.
A friend of mine did work in Cycle Republic and they've all now closed; not sure about the wisdom there now, with the benefit of hindsight. I guess if the stock went to Halfords' stores then there's no loss, with bikes since this board reckons they've sold much of their stock.
I think that people will continue to avoid public transport for the foreseeable future, if they can cycle instead.
I'll certainly buy more if the price drops for a few days. My plan is to hold for 5 years +/- so I think I could do a lot worse than HFD.

New to this board. I bought just a few (£750) in 2017 after good service at my local Halfords. Paid £3.16.. So one of those shares I should've had a stop loss – but didn't. Anyway, now lost only 47%. If the price goes down again I may average down with a few more, and then keep for the long term. I have to say that, apart from cycling at Halfords doing well, there are around 3 people on my road who need new car batteries after the lockdown. I know as I've been lending out my Ring power booster to get them going. The Halfords turnaround plan together with a recession must make this a decent bet now? Do people agree that 1.45 / 150 would probably be the base?

I do wonder if the whole journey is already choreographed. Bought a few more today on that basis, just in case.

Just had a quick look at Trustpilot and there seem to be plenty of reviews so stuff still going out. Also, on BBC news the other night they had a report from Bensons beds and their mattress factory. It struck me that people there were still working making mattresses and with social distancing. Must be the same sort of thing going on with Eve's production.
So trading update; another date in the diary to look forward to.

How could a hedge fund know the results of blind tests? Seems most unlikely to me but what do I know..
I think I must be a 'nebuliser-half-full' rather than a 'nebuliser-half-empty' kind of investor but I am happy to hold to wait for real news, maybe de-risk a little one the way if possible.

Sam's been saying things like the 'more they sell the more money they lose' for as long as I can remember so hard to take comments seriously really. I'm very happy when Eve sales go up as they have been doing until the lock-down. He likes to reappear when the sp dips, which I guess is fair enough from his POV. I believe CPA is 'Cost Per Acquisition' rather than 'Action'; Sam may correct me; it's his area of...? Well 'expertise' seems inappropriate :-)
I actually check this board less frequently these days as I believe the most dangerous times are well behind Eve. Sales probably have gone a little soft recently but Eve have less competition post-Casper and people have been browsing 'online' a lot more recently.

I don't know the rules. Does that mean they've completely finished selling, or just that another 1.1% (-ish) has been sold and they can continue?

I'm guessing that the people behind sng001, having started out in a publicly funded university space, won't want to be seen to be fleecing the NHS, or the rest of the world – assuming it the story goes to plan
