Nice to see a decent rise this morning, but will it hold …

I’ve been in this for a few years and hold 34,344 shares so I think I’m entitled to have an opinion and rightly so , be negative. If I was down financially I would happily sell and leave this sector , I made a mistake leaving BP and now I’ll have to sit this out . If you don’t like my comments then just block me or whatever you do , I have serious money invested , thank you .

There won’t be any political good news and interest rate cuts are looking unlikely, even if they do cut , the share price dropped on the recent cut so I wouldn’t hold your breath , this is extremely unloved currently and I see zero good news on the horizon

It’s ex dividend day which accounts for some of the drop

What’s going on here , decent results and a big drop , looking where we were 12/13 months ago , very disappointing

Seems that no good news can lift this and hold , so tomorrow morning if there’s good news , we will see a rise then a slow fall again ? might as well try and guess the top and sell , buy back in later in the day .

Hope it works out for you crossley. I’m beyond disappointed how this has gone recently, my own fault , fingers crossed for some good news because this just keeps dropping , who would of thought when we hit £17 around this time last year that we would be nearly back in the £10s

Stevebt, I should have stuck with my LTH BP , stupidity took over thinking I could make some money quickly coming back into PSN but as usual this sector has hit me hard . I will learn one day …

IF…. there are lots of things that could happen in life , IF we had a nuclear world war there would be no point in investing , so might as well spend all our dosh ….in the meantime…

Morning Crossley , I’ll be a lot better when I see this back in the £12 region , didn’t expect it to drop down recently. I’m sure we will have a steady rise up to the announcement, no idea what will happen after that though , things certainly don’t look very favourable for the builders .

Fingers crossed for an upward trend in the run up to the Bank of England rate announcement on Thursday…unless news gets out that there will be no cut ?

Stevebt, I’m almost embarrassed to admit to jumping back in here on a recent dip , the additional shares compared to when I was invested previously was too much to resist especially given the relatively strong run the builders had had , as usual I become impatient, going against my own advice of long term holds and end up suffering a paper loss , I know this will turn at some point , not expecting a huge rise but enough to make a worth while amount , think I’m now over 33,000 shares . Bp will be a great long term hold , no doubt I’ll get back in there if this rises

I never learn my lesson with the house builders , next rise and I’m gone for good( you’ll be pleased to hear ) the way the economy and government are , I just can’t see any way back to the previous highs of last summer and the highs of a couple of years before that are gone forever in my opinion.

Apologies for being negative, looks like this is back to going nowhere ,and I’m struggling to think of anything positive, the economy looks doomed and no doubt tax rises on the way .

Anyone got anything to change my mind ?

Sparhawk, things not looking good , potentially increased government borrowing will have knock on effects to the economy, ending hopes of rate cuts

Stevebt, I have a target price so I’m staying here , also happy to receive the considerable dividend payment , in my mind this has to increase over time , fingers crossed !

Look at the percentage difference in the SP drop between BP and SHELL , is BP thought of so badly …

Anyway , I’ve topped up this morning as I believe this is massively undervalued, long term hold for me .
