The valid reason for having a lower instore price would be when the M&S store doesn't sell a cheaper version of the same product - therefore, they sell their more expensive better quality product at a competitive price to fill the lower price gap and remain competitive.
When the same product is sold on Ocado Retail there is a much better choice, including lower priced products, therefore, it is not necessary to reduce the price.
