Another option is to convert green hydrogen to ammonia so that it is easy to transport then convert it back to hydrogen at point of use. Maybe Enquest could look at this idea for Sullom Voe using wind power from offshore.

There are two main ways of dealing with the hydrogen storage problem.

Large scale - produce the hydrogen and pass it directly into a grid supply network - in the UK that would be our gas grid.

Small scale for motor vehicles - produce on site [service station or HGV depot] using an electrolysis unit - input is just water and electricity.

I think that we are only months away from having a vaccine available for the over 70's and people with severe medical conditions.
This will I think be the game changer along with other advances in tackling the virus in hospitalised patients.

The real change will come when energy is cheaper to produce using renewables than carbon fuels.
For example, wild power to produce electricity to produce green hydrogen using electrolysis.
A world where energy is cheap to produce, without pollution and global warming could be just around the corner - maybe?

It looks like M&S are doing everything they can to balance supply and demand.

The British Consumer is going to be even more erratic this Christmas, especially with items that will be affected by the rule of six regulation like large Turkeys. Some lateral thinking is needed - for example sell Turkey crowns rather than the whole bird.

The simple fact is that if Ocado accuse AutoStore of infringing their patents and begin court proceedings is that it puts THL in the same dilemma as Ocado when it comes to signing new contracts.
It is in both companies interests to settle.

It would seem that AutoStore want to settle, maybe they were concerned that Ocado could have put them in the same situation as they have put Ocado - that could even be their motivation for bringing the action - both firms seem to have broken each others patents.

The best option has to be a settlement, so that both firms can continue to roll out their technology without hindrance.
In fact settling now, may be the only way forward for both companies.

It seems there is more behind the motivation for this patent dispute than is apparent at first glance.
AutoStore is owned by a large American Private Equity Firm - Thomas H Lee Partners - they purchased it in June 2019.
There aim is to put together a group of tech companies, presumably with an eventual aim of selling them as one to the highest bidder - hence the motivation to maximise value regarding patents.

I guess Ocado would have purchased the company in June 2019 if they had thought it necessary.

AutoStore were founded in 1997 - they were sold to a Swedish Investment Company in Jan 2017 who held them until June 2019.
They are currently a private company after a leveraged buyout (LBO) employing 136 employees.

No, there has to be a direct comparison - for example a Hovis Tasty Wholemeal Medium Sliced Bread 800g - both sell this online.

This investing lark is a bit of a game between investors, brokers, MM's and the business media - the last three make their money when investors buy or sell, therefore, they use every trick in the book to make us buy or sell.

To state the obvious they cannot match M&S products against another online retailer, but branded goods are price matched.

Its obviously up to M&S what they sell their instore products for and prices fluctuate anyway, so to nit-pick a few products with different prices isn't constructive - there are probably other M&S products that are cheaper online anyway.

Ocado match their prices against Tesco online and give customers a voucher if their shopping is more expensive up to the value of £5. This more than covers any issues mentioned in this thread.
