Miln - very difficult to find the bottom but I bought in just above 6 quid where there is plenty of resistance and I am happy to keep adding below that - plenty of money out there atm with wage rises on average around 5pct and inflation around 2pct (wage growth in the figures issued today were at 5.2pct) - I went to Hamilton Hall next to Liverpool Street station on Saturday for pre dinner Christmas drinks and it was absolutely mobbed - 8 deep at the bottom bar and plenty of business being done - for me the share should be closer to 7 quid than 6 right now - gl dyor etc.

I sold my holding here a few months ago at 80p when the Gov decided to savage business with the NIC tax raid - MCG will now have to pay employer NIC from 5k instead of £9100 from April as well as having to absorb the remainder of the wage rises they gave with drivers receiving an over 10 per cent pay rise back-dated to July 2023 and then further rises in July of this year and January 2025 bringing the total increase to 19.6 per cent over two years until the next anniversary in July 2025 - maybe the shorts are factoring in this, I know I am - I still like MCG but the Gov have made it extremely difficult for companies that are trying to turn themselves around right now - UK inflation figures tomorrow will not make pleasant reading imv so more falls to come here and for other UK stocks as interest rate cuts are delayed - gla dyor etc.

McCall just needs to take the bull by the horns here and split ITV Studios giving 1 share for each share held in the remainder for existing holders - we know full well the studios are valued at 3b so float it separately then value will be outed - instead of dicking around force the issue.

ECB already cut 4 times this year Savage and it has made little difference to Germany the so called main driver of the EU and French public debt is expected to increase to 117% of GDP by 2026, - so not a certainty by any means that the EU economy will start improving with further cuts down the pipe - BOE rate cuts will be determined as always by inflation and the UK figures drop on Wed, so we will see where rates are going - I have already reduced my exposure in the UK stocks I hold in preparation for delays in interest rate cuts and will look to add on drops if this macro plays out - always best to keep at least 15 to 20pct of your portfolio in cash for these eventualities - gl dyor etc

Unfortunately JJ some people who stray onto this site may have already sold up on the advice of that chump from Morninstar - my own target is 450p which I think may well be realised post Christmas when the trading statement is issued - until then just sit back and relax

Haha - not sure if you have heard Savage but Germany is in recession and France is a basket case - only Spain worth liaising with atm - also very unstable in Europe right now - UK is seen as a safe haven in terms of investment, for how long much longer who knows -

Ah I don't worry too much about the higher buy in price Savage - I hold and add long term which could be for more than a year or even longer, I am not a trader so don't worry about short term declines - re interest rates - Bailey has an issue, cut rates in order to stimulate growth which I believe the markets are now considering or leave rates and let the lunatic Gov policy of stimulating the public sector and hammering the private sector play out - if it is the latter then further falls are on the cards along with recession

On the back of those GDP numbers for the service sector this morning I would say Savage could well be right- pub sector and restraunts will probably tank this morning - very difficult to catch the bottom but under 6 looks on the cards - lets see

Ah Morningstar - I stopped reading this article after the following sentence "The 200-year old firm is exposed to disruption from new players, such as price-led discounters and online retailers.- Marks is not in competion with discounters on the food side of things like Lidl, Aldi and neither is it competing against Primark on the clothes side - different demographic entirely - I suspect Morningstar have clients who are short stocked atm - momentum is with MKS and this will show in the trading update after Christmas - lets see

Decided to add some more this morning - was going to wait for the Kroger ruling but there is plenty of resistance around 3 quid here imo and Christmas/New Year sales are looking good which should augur well for the trading update on the 14th Jan - I am in this for the long haul and not too concerned with daily fluctuations - let the supermarket managers keep paying those higher inflationary wages, sick pay, pension payments et al - going forward Ocado can take market share all day long from Waitrose, Tesco etc as they can offsett prices of items on a wages vs robot basis - it is playing out in front of your eyes right now - in the meantime I will wait on the sidelines until the robots take over in due course - gla dyor etc.

a word of advice to anyone straying onto this board and paying attention to so called investors suggesting purchasing this stock when it has fallen to below 200p or buying at 120p 140p etc - these so called investors come onto here basing their analysis on the square root of **** all and do not caveat their comments by saying dyor etc - some people end up believing these morons and short stock accordingly and then wonder why they have lost money - ffs guys please dyor!!!!

Agree with Poker here - looking at the article below from Kroger released yesterday - the key takeaway is this - "Digital sales during the quarter posted growth of 11%, led by an 18% increase in delivery sales. The company’s automated customer fulfillment centers, known as CFCs, helped drive the delivery growth, interim CFO Todd Foley said on the earnings call.

“The CFCs are offering customers a superior digital experience with excellent in-stocks, fresh items and a white glove on-time delivery,” Foley said. “CFC growth was driven by a significant increase in households and trips as well as an increase in basket size.” - so logical to conclude the CFC'S will continue at pace if the merger goes ahead or not - lets see

Personally I won't be selling below 80p - funds will be reallocating monies towards UK equities in the New Year imv as some stocks are crazy undervalued - you can see value being outed with DLG this morning and ITV is also under scrutiny so value will out if not recognised by the market - VOD must be another one at this price - at the end of the day the UK is fairly stable compared with most of europe with Germany in recession and France in turmoil so equities should do well if Labour can get their act together- the Times, Telegraph and the Observer usually have their share picks for the New year shortly after Christmas - lookout for them - VOD will be on there imho
