Fair point re Tesco JJ - Free cash flow came in below estimates and the market has been unforgiving in what is now a toppy FTSE - now oversold imo at 6.6x enterprise value/cash profit - a director bought in at 418p - I bought a few at 414p on the basis that the drop has gone too far - will see how it plays out - MKS looks to have more potential though - looking at their new in clothing range, sales are going well which augurs well for the sp going forward - lets see - gl dyor etc.

Looking through the last remnants of the supermarkets reporting - Sainsbury is getting mashed today, down 5pct atm on underwhelming sales figures, add to this Tesco which bombed 6pct yesterday and is still tanking it is becoming very very clear now who the star performers were on the food front over Christmas - MKS/OCDO - top of the list - gla dyor etc.

Barclays raises Centrica price target to 218 (210) pence - 'overweight' - always a good buy, such a cyclical share and always strong in the winter months when the heating is on and demand is high! - still good value at 178p - good buy at 164.8 Thanglan - nice 8pct uplift - I am in at 168.7p - target price 190p - gl dyor etc.

Percy - On the 19th Dec you posted on here - "I just can not own shares in it at this share price. Maybe 260p to 210p yes." - at 210p with the sp currently trading at 350p you are in effect saying MKS is 40pct overvalued? - think about what you are saying as people do peruse these sites looking for advice and you do not caveat any of your statements with dyor as I do - I have given you the mathematical reasoning as to why MKS shares are worth more than they are already and Berenberg reiterated this in their note this morning - I know you are telling me to calm down but I get very angry when people come on here making unhinged statements like you do on a regular basis - atb gl and DYOR

Hey John Happy New Year to you matey !- yes subdued a little in some of the London Spoons pubs I frequent atm but looking at other pubs in the city JDW still have more people n them- but only to be expected imo after Christmas, people have spent up and maxed out their credit cards - Mrs C goes on a view websites offering advice to tourists in London and the main question being asked is where can I get a cheap meal and a cheap drink in London for me and my family - the answer from the majority of the advisors is JDW - As I said in a previous post I am noticing this more and more when I pop into the smoke which is at least once a week - gl dyor etc.

JDS also mentioned MKS as a possible takeover target a few weeks back - some may laugh at this but I am not so sure - when you look at the MKS Mcap at 6.95b and Ocado Mcap at 2.21b vs say Amazon Mcap at almost 2t - it could purchase both companies with its petty cash - Amazon couldn't make their Fresh stores work in the UK and pulled out - Ocado now almost at break even/profit and have CFC's worldwide with big players so instant coverage for Amazon on the grocery front - The Times reported back in June 2023 that Amazon were interested in buying Ocado with the sp then at 567p after this news had been announced which made the Ocado Mcap around 4.7b vs the Mcap at 2.21b now - Ocado now has no exclusivity clauses tied to it in the US, - maybe just maybe there may be an opportunity for a big player??? - gla dyor etc.

Update pretty much as I said in a previous post although I am pleased that clothing has held up and full year guidance has been reiterated - with that in mind I added a few at open for 333p - may come under pressure later in what is already a toppy UK market and tomorrow when US release jobs numbers - will be looking to add more on further weakness gla dyor etc.

Decided to sell my holding today at 519p - an overall 10pct profit so not too shabby - may well still be more to go here but I am a little nervous atm re UK economy - people seem to be tightening their belts and the UK airline industry is ultra competitive right now which makes margins harder - good luck to all still holding - dyor etc.
