Hi Jtan - I am making a small loss now on NEX but have been adding on the way down - I generally buy shares that I believe are well run business with a good track record that pay dividends - NEX falls into this category imo and will soon I believe return to paying dividends - I buy with a 3 year view so whilst it is being pounded atm by negative sentiment in general towards the transport sector it will not imo always be this way - value will out in the end as we have seen with Stagecoach and Go ahead - patience needed here but patience will be rewarded in the end imo

Good article Poker and I agree with it - I have been topping up here, with Ocado, with ITV, Rolls Royce etc and will continue to do so - the p/e on the s@p is now around 16 whereas it was around 30 not long ago - regardless of economic doom and gloom there are signs that the share sell off may soon about to reverse - nasdaq is off around 30pct in the last 6 months and the dow around 20pct and some UK stocks are now below their nav - when stocks show value they will be bought, that is a fact and is playing out right now in the transport sector with Stagecoach and Go ahead in the process of being taken over - so value will out one way or another in the end.

not sure - I have not read anything to that effect - I am just hoping that nothing happens strike wise here before the results

Jtan - My nervousness holding short term with NEX is they may go on strike for more pay which seems to be the norm on transport stocks of late - this is playing out on the railways and now on Easyjet which is one of the reasons I sold my entire EZJ stake a few days ago albeit for a small loss - strikes can have a huge sentiment affect on said share price which is why EZJ is tanking today

Glad I added at 65.2p on Thursday now - unless we see a major macro/micro economic catastrophe I think 65p is the bottom here - jp morgan overweight today with a 170p target and whilst I don't think that is on the cards based on fundamentals alone we should be nearer 90p than 60p imho

Yes I would like to see an announcement Jtan, not only would it boost sentiment from a share price point of view, but it is also good publicity in terms of concentrating the minds of the general public with regards to switching from car/rail to bus -

Morning Jtan - yes I am here slightly disappointed tbh that NEX has not kicked on with the extra workload they will have due to the train strikes - I guess the market is fretting about upcoming wage rises in the transport industry and how this will effect revenue going forward

2.31p interim and 5.39p final equals 7.7p overall divided by 186p = 4.1pct - 20b debt is par for the course with telecom stocks and irrelevant on free cash flow level, indeed when measured against the altnets as a percentage of nav it is miniscule

My guess on share price rise is the market is finally starting to realise this share pays a pretty good dividend and is a good hedge against inflation - add onto this the low p/e vs industry average and it all ads up to a strong buy in the current market imo
