tux..was thinking the same possibility. oil price is up - things may be getting back to normal.. i am not expecting too much from AGM though trice could always give us an update on increased production from well 6. one would think that production should at least be on the way to 14k per day with 16.5k as the target until the EPS is commissioned

we seem (fingers crossed) at the bottom and the commotion has calmed down - so the market could see it as a time to readjust the price.

if 12p was the price before disappointing RNS i think it would be feasible for a move towards 9p ish

i seem to remember well 6 flowed naturally at 16500 in the beginning.. so if the eps was working you would hope they could be back up to 20k at least.

As dive says there will be a period where production is substantially lower which is why the year prediction was suspended...to be fair to hur they are usually conservative...i am betting trice is hurting at the moment so will be doing his best to get production up safely....

as for the new shorters yesterday- i think they are gambling on poor sentiment and fear - have to say very risky....

bartle...i agree the current flavour is green energy...however impractical that may or may not be. interesting youtube vid showing a lot of it to be a con.

if that is the case then it will be important that hur succeeds for the uk...there is a much lower carbon footprint in getting the oil out here than in saudi or russia etc and then getting it transported here. added to the fact that i think after the coronavirus nations will look to be more self sufficient in commodities

Certain drops were disappointments - last year's drilling results and the interference between wells 6 and 7. other drops were due to CV and oil price war . However other drops were by a constant attack on the company. it has been a perfect storm.

at present there is not much difference between market capital and cash. so it is not really valuing the assets. there are the bonds but that is 2 years away.

if/when the production of well 6 increases - there should be an increase in SP. providing oil price stays up.

Aquae.. As I understand it - it is not that they have one well but two wells who don't behave well together.. Of the two well 6 is the better producer.

If they need downtime on 6 they can also run7... To be honest it might not be a bad idea to run 7 alone for a bit to try and get rid of the perched water once and for all... It may mean that the wells might behave better together again the future.

was $17 ish per barrel extracted..and $26 ish including operating costs...so the extra $10 will need to be shared by a lower production rate..i suspect $ 31 might be more accurate at current levels...the closer the single well gets to the output of the two previously the costs will go back down towards $27.

has hit profits..however still producing and making a profit ( at the moment) and more importantly gathering data.

after a night of sleeping on it i am feeling a bit more positive (or deluded?..lol) today. it was bad news - and we are going to suffer a production cut until either they sort the eps or alternative well option.

we are currently over 10k per day and we know well 6 flowed at 16500. so the production will slowly be increased. if well 6 ever needs down time then well 7 can be brought back on . the drop was overdone - sentiment is low and i think many panicked. understandable.
however if the production can get sorted out - and they already have plans to increase then i agree with AWK that it is time to make money

i will keep my long term hold and trade the inevitable ups and downs in the coming weeks.

Awk.. I totally agree with you on commissioning of esp... That is criminal... To have got to this length of time and it still isn't done.. Whether or not it was intended to be used it should have been done so that any issues could have been rectified... Poor management...

If well 6 can do 16500 under natural flow the esp surely would have meant that they could have kept production target with only one well... It seems to sum hur up... Great at the theory but very poor at basic practicalities... Or common sense.. Or running a business

thought hur could come good as long as the wells were perform g as well as they reported they were. That is why today was a real kick in the nuts...

I topped up today as a trade. I do think it will go up from today but again it will take a long time to get back to 12p let alone last year's 60p. I will continue to trade it but have to question my long term future unless the tide turns soon and we start to get a glimmer of good news

bartle - I have generally defended HUR throughout even though I have lost a lot of money on them - as I thought they had integrity.
I am very disappointed that the edison report was released two days ago when it would seem they must have known this RNS was coming out.

I have topped up another 19k this morning - but maybe I need my head read

colonel..from memory the well flowed 16,500 bod naturally. although they only ran to an average of 12500 when running it on its own around january.

I suspect they will carefully. ramp it up as much as possible now .

funny..i was on the verge of selling everything yesterday as i thought oil price was toppy........to buy back in cheaper....oh well....hur..reminds me of that joke why are women like hurricanes..wet and wild when they come and take all your money when they go

bartle - you make some interesting points

1) hur has two wells and licences - agreed. not sure that is a negative though...the idea idea is to get to ffd on lancaster and then develop the big one halifax
2) no definite plan this year . agreed..well sort of .... they probably have/had plans but covid has changed everything
including price of oil and therefore revenue
3) drop in sp...very much in agreement it has been very painful....however i would question that at market cap of £1.2 billion it was overpriced or it is currently very under priced...there is no way that GWA was worth the drop even as a write off...hur has lost sentiment and suffered from lots of attacks. personally i think it is currently undervalued.
4) poor drilling performance. yes it was very disappointing but that is the oil business. it happens
5) CMDs that drive price down. agreed. however as an investor i find them useful to learn more but i do wish there was a more positive reaction.
6) shareholder value statement - actually i have only noticed this statement since the drop in december. it is clear that trice is feeling the pressure possibly from not showing enough interest over the years. prob too little too late.
7) bonds to reflect on. yes this will be hanging over us until it is sorted out. plenty of time bit not to be forgotten about
8) an unlikely knighthood - agreed

SP predictions whether paid for by the company or not are only someone's opinion. I don't take too much notice in them.

john - luckily i am ok...but have taken a major walloping - mostly with hur. portfolio has lost about £140k. still got 250,000 long term shares in hur and am doing some trades on it - though not much movement last week or so. . missed out on a couple of the coronavirus plays - but didnt know enough quick enough

john..the market cant really hold much value of GWA in the current share price. If spirit walk I can see an initial drop in SP - thats how the market works - but it should soon rise back,

mind you i was wrong in my prediction last week of a good uplift in sp due to oil prices getting stronger so WTFDIK

i have use both hargreaves and halifax. Halifax does struggle to fill orders on some shares .....so i tend to use it for more long term holdings of liquid stock.
hargreaves is much more reliable. there are still times when they cant offer a deal but it usually passes within 5-10 min..of course the prices have usually changed. gone up or down against what you intially were trying to trade.

i did a day trade on hur yesterday with just under £21k without much problem....the sell didnt go through for 3 or 4 attempts which was unusual...put it down to a glitch.....only made £80 or so - so hardly worth the bother but i was working on pc anyway so didnt cost me much in time

fred - if the share price has been manipulated illegally - whether there is a trail of breadcrumbs or loaves of bread - there has to be someone really interested in looking for it. there isn't.

Unfortunately HUR now could no longer join main market if it wanted to as the market cap is now too low. I think it should have been done when we were £1b but ....

i agree hur does tend to react slowly on upside...the increase in sp v oil price in the last 10 days is evidence of that. maybe investor sentiment?...it has been hit hard and a bit of a waiting game at the moment - which is not sexy enough for some.

It has moved quickly when it wants to. I have been trying to trade the waves - caught a few and missed a few. however i am wary of missing out - as the market often gives little notice .

agree on poor communication. although it seems to me they have tried to get better. i think for much of the time is wasnt a priority . now the sp has been decimated they realise but not sure they are equipped .

whilst i see AIM as being bent as a 9 bob note..the issue with hur was the perfect storm in my opinion....bad drill results/sell on news/brexit/ election and the constant attack by higher profile posters/bloggers etc. Just as it could have recovered we had covid and oil price war....you couldn't make it up. all that was missing was a giant squid attack

Personally i think we will get a rise this week.....whether correct or not people are starting to behave as if lockdown is over....and getting back to normal...oil price is doing well - though i agree with those who are dubious as to how long it will last considering lack of storage. volatility for a while for those who want to make money

the thing is that when things do get back to normal you want to be in position. as i am sure the move up will be sharp and swift....
