Nothing to stop Musk investing outside of TSLA. Esp. with a renewable and low cost energy source. Could be a great opportunity.
Maybe the population of crypto investors buy shares in ARB instead ?
I should have added (if not intuitive) that once you have computed the gain following this approach you would then apply the relevant tax allowances - to determine if there is a taxable gain. So following this sequence is necessary. From a reporting standpoint - gains and losses are reported separately even for the same company, which adds some hassle factor. Although these are of course netted to determine the taxable base. If you're in a net loss position - remember to report this too - as it can only be carried forward up to 6 years. You can report capital gains/losses at any time during the tax year - not just by the filing date for the relevant tax year.
Probably enough detail for a BB.

@600... I noticed this too, and attributed it to a movement in net "buys" and "sells". I can't see it can be anything else when measuring the movement between opening and closing holdings. Note that there is a reported "revenue". That cannot happen without "selling" and the update indicates how the selling price is determined. I think this simply about ARB selecting the most informative highlights to go into 'discretionary' monthly communication. We fair well as PIs with the information on investments and operations communicated compared to most.
Its HMRC rules for matching sells to buys to compute capital gains. The sequence is to match:
1) shares sold and bought on the same day (same day rule)
2) shares sold within 30 days of buying (excl. same day) (30-day rule)
3) other buys go into a s.104 pool
4) any "buys" on the same day treated as a single "buy" or any "sells" on the same day are treated as a single "sell"
Examples on HMRC website are helpful. Look for fact sheet 284.

@600... afraid so... got my genie on amazon... even told me Btc for 31Dec.. well worth the £5.99 :-)
GLA
@IIIIIIIII which macro factors do you consider to be most relevant?
Thanks
ARB has warrants at 12p. Pires has warrants at 6p. Each funding round the Pluto premium has increased. Those are the benchmarks publicly available. Weigh up seed investors returns and pricing for a successful IPO .
@denby69
The rise in BTC over the weekend will give support to higher ARB. The raise was not big enough relative to mcap to hold the SP back. IMHO every reason to think £3 will be achieved this week... and it should go higher on BTC stellar rise. There is always hot money chasing popular short term gains. You need to choose for you what ARB is... but at BTC $60k... there's an SP uptick coming.
LB - don't knock yourself. Keep 'em coming.
This is the perfect BB for "Proof of Work" styled consensus calculations - posts and comments on posts :-)
The good faith in these posts is great to see. Makes this BB head and shoulders above others.
@amanesia - appreciated. I've generally linked that type of company announcement as a response to stock exchange price monitoring and price monitoring extension announcements during the course of the day (as opposed to solely opening market prices). But I get it - and a good explanation. Thanks.
Here's my IR response to the next speeding ticket : "We are Argo !!"
That or "@amanesia roasted an SP at the weekend - @bullmarket roasted tommys - what does the market expect ?!!" :-)
My time in the kitchen today is done.
A brilliant Saturday morning for BTC after a challenging week - TTFN

A Question of Terminology
Is a speeding ticket the BB equivalent of a Stock Exchange price monitoring ? In which case - they are not bad news are they ? Or do they impede the movement in the SP ? Thanks.
Jeez... well that's sure to pack some flight into BTC - or send it into a food coma!!
I'm storing up the glazed carrots for Easter (by request of RC - good morning sir).... and was thinking of popping a turkey on the BBQ for Easter to... but if the SP is flying on the SP then I might reserve it for year end fuel in case BTC didn't crack the sound barrier by then.
Good to see you boyz this weekend after a quite unusual week.
@amanesia... I've got those tommys roasting and they're screaming $61k tom-orroe... where r u at with the lasagne this weekend ?
Twickenham,
brilliant to see so many great locations represented here
@tiger16... do you think enough shares were issued to Retail and sold sending SP to 215p ?
GL though
doesn't always count for much... but reviewing some facts (hindsight or lessons learned ?):
1) 8-Mar RNS announced 16.9m new shares being 4.6% of the pre-raise issued shares
2) that's £33.8m to a pre-raise mkt cap £912m (250p) (3.7%)
3) of the 16.9m a mere 0.9% was issued to Retail investors
4) meanwhile BTC is 3% off ATH whereas ARB SP is 26% of ATH
- that mix of proportions doesn't (and didn't) equate to a "£2 SP" that some were thinking
- the greatest perversion of logic (in view of the numbers involved in the raise) is that ARB has not climbed to c.£3 on the back of BTC rise, and that's where the short term pain will linger a while the dust settles from the raise
- those hoping to top-up at less than 190p-220p were over-hopeful on the back of BTC rise and the amounts in the raise
- those lucky to be allocated shares or buy below 235p have a decent buy point: worth a hodl and a trip to the merch shop to celebrate!
- this says nothing of the returns the funds allocated to investing activities will generate and the appreciation of the hodl
Every chance of this simmering down quickly to be price neutral or blue today and 250p plus on Monday (subject to BTC).
All IMHO (invested)
GLA
Go straight to 350p. If you pass 250p - collect some xtra if you're lucky.
BTC 2.3% off ATH and rising... ARB 33% ATHCheaper to buy tomorrow or Monday than today ?? Now that is "gambling". Pile in while you can.
@sma11time: I've looked around (not hard enough or the wrong places)... where did you see this info. ? (thanks)
