fordm - I don't know when you last lived here, but I have to say that it seems to me that the wheels are coming off.
Meanwhile, the politicians bicker, and make promises they have no chance (or intention) of keeping.
Anyway, I have worked out that my chances of dying from monkeypox are only 260,000,000 to 1, so I am retreating into my bunker (again). Give me a shout when it's "safe" to emerge.

lordcroker - those exorbitant transatlantic prices, while not great for those paying them , are about the only good news lately ( or actually for a long time) for us investors, and will hopefully contribute to decent results next week. If you do book, I would just like to thank you and your wife for helping to give us a nudge in the right direction.
Actually - why not treat her to Business Class - you know it makes sense.

jtan - I'm somewhat confused. Had just about grasped the idea of this "head and shoulders" stuff, but now there's a leg involved as well? And a candle? Just kidding. "Every airline result so far has caused a selloff". Very true - been pondering that myself. Is it wise to ditch some shares early next week, and hope to jump back in at a cheaper price come Friday?
Obviously, if I did that, then IAG will buck the trend and spike up sharply.

jtan - just pipped me to it - I was hoping to be first poster of the day, but never mind. Very quiet here, but then there's not a lot to say about the share price at the moment - barring some other seismic event (please God, no) - we are just drifting along in this range, killing time until next Friday.

PS - fordm - trying to drop a couple of pounds, as the mankini is a bit tight; hence I have temporarily given up the biscuits, and have taken to dunking lettuce/cabbage leaves in my tea. It's really not as bad as it sounds, and still better than Hobnobs - you should try it.

Share price down 6% though.

"...monkey-custard swallower...". FFS fordm - after jtan's comment yesterday, I couldn't keep any solids down yesterday evening, so was just looking forward to a nice spot of brunch - and now this. Outrageous.
Only 8 days to go until next results - feeling slightly apprehensive. Hope those high transatlantic fares have bolstered the coffers, and hopefully some decent forecasts about the next 12 months. Either way, be interesting to see where the share price is in 8 days time. I already have my testicles crossed.

Carrots - hope u are right. I guess we will all have a better idea after next Friday.

jtan - I have only just come in from a hard day at the coalface/pub, so have only just seen your post from 12.37. I know I can occasionally be a cheeky chappy myself, but that is truly outrageous. I was looking forward to a nice supper, but after that contribution from you, I will be lucky if I can keep a slice of dry bread down.

I like to think of myself as a fairly even-handed, reasonable kind of bloke - and quite happy to accept that other people may have a different opinion to myself. However, one look through Toddjustin's posts, and you will see what a complete and utter bell-end he is - clearly with an agenda, and an aggressive, hostile attitude to boot.

I predict an end of year share price of around 40 pence., with liquidation/ insolvency in February or March.

Disappointing start to the week - FTSE doing very nicely, while we appear to be "stuck in the middle".
Time for me to venture out into the furnace. What with trying to put both of my masks on, while simultaneously applying both hand sanitizer and factor 50 sun lotion, I'm about as slippery as an eel dipped in Vaseline. Or your average politician.

Crikey - when it got to 8.30 without any posts here, I assumed that a combination of covid, monkeypox, and hot weather had wiped out the entire planet (as I predicted). Either that or Putin had nuked us during the night, but I had slept through it.
Anyway, it now appears that there is still life out there.

"The stock is horrifically undervalued.." Let's hope so, bruv, let's hope so. Things have been so negative now, for so long, that I really could handle a little bit of positive news - as I'm sure you, and many others here could do.

Health service crisis / multiple warnings to "stay safe" / schools closing / events cancelled / transport disruption / 'cobra' meetings / advice to "stay home to stay safe" / people scared / endemic fear. I could go on, but I'm boring myself. Any way - what am I talking about - covid? Nope - this time it's the slightly warm weather. Unbelievable. I give up - the world is officially bonkers.

As for the share price next week, I think that by Friday I will be singing one of the following three songs -
a) "The only way is up" - Yazz.
b) "Stuck in the middle with you" - Steelers Wheel.
c) "Down down (deeper and down) " - Status Quo.
Which one will it be?
