I see that despite airlines still being way down over the same period , the FTSE is now back to where it was at the start of the year, which I find a little puzzling, given the deluge of bad news in the interim - I guess it's partly being propped up by the oil companies. Anyway, as my thread title suggests, I'm not sure whether to view this positively, or is the FTSE set for a big fall, and if so will it drop us even further, or are we already ahead of the game, with all the bad news already priced in?

This has proved to be a bit of a difficult ceiling to break through a couple of times lately. Be nice if we can manage it this time, and use it as a floor instead.
As for Wizz, they lost more money this quarter than the same period last year, but obviously things look more positive moving forward, and that's what the market likes, and hence they are up over 8%. Let's hope we can replicate this on Friday.

Pianista - I had picked this story up, and it's an interesting, and slightly troubling development. It doesn't appear to be taking into account the development of cleaner or alternative fuel, and it will just drive up ticket prices. Seems that it's ok for wealthy people to fly - not so much for the rest of us proletarian plebs. I think you'll find that's a common theme with the whole climate change industry ( I use that word advisedly).
