I know that I have whinged about this before, so I apologise for repeating myself.
The year got off to a great start - with Covid and the associated restrictions gradually receding, airlines (and other businesses) looked set for a strong revival, and the share price, here and elsewhere, was on an upward trajectory. Finally, after 2 years of carnage, things were improving. WRONG. Since February, my portfolio reads like this -
IAG - down 36%
EZJ - down 47%
RR - down 33%
Lloyds - down 22%.
Mea culpa for not selling off back in February, and for not having a more diverse portfolio. But not even in my wildest dreams (and trust me, some of them are pretty wild) could I have envisaged this scenario.
Very depressing - and coming on top of the previous 2 years, quite hard to cope with.
3;02 pm - is that too early for a vodka? It is Friday after all. F**k it.

Ha ha ha. I should worry - safe in my bunker, awaiting the imminent arrival of my lady friends. Who's laughing now?

Apologies - my intention was not to demean any people from those great countries, merely that there are billions of people all around the world with far more serious issues than me losing a few quid on some dodgy share trading. I try (but don't always succeed) to keep some kind of perspective. Not that easy in todays social media/ advertising/marketing/TV driven world.

You are right about the Lloyds divi, but I considered them my "safe" investment to balance my IAG flutter, yet they are down from about 55p earlier this year, which is unbelievable to me. Basically, everything I touch turns to s**t lately. Anyway, enough misery - there are plenty of people with far worse problems than my petty s**t. At least I'm not Ukranian. Or Yemeni. Or Syrian.Or Afghani. Should I keep going?

My main holdings are IAG, EZJ, Rolls, and Lloyds. So basically, today I took a battering like a pornstars sphincter. The neverending, relentless bad news around the airline industry is almost comical - well it would be if I wasn't an investor. It's just relentless, and never-ending. And I still haven't heard back from Ms Bisset, or Ms Minogue, which is salt in the wound.
The Post Office has probably mislaid those (again).
Anyway, time to take solace in my only true friend - Ms Smirnoff, and her close friend, coca-cola. Everyone needs someone they can rely on, although as the earth shifts beneath my feet, I fear that even these old reliabls stalwarts will let me down at some point.

jtan - don't laugh - it may yet happen. However, I will hopefully not be alone, as I have invited Kylie, and Jacqueline Bisset to join me in my bunker. I am quietly confident they will accept - who could turn down an offer like that?

From an investors point of view, this is the only bit of good news I can think of. Got a friend recently flew to Miami, and the price was extortionate. Been checking out the prices for myself, and they are truly eye-watering - way higher than pre pandemic, but it seems that people are (for the moment) prepared to pay thaem.

If someone can let me know when it's "safe" to come out, it would be much appreciated.

fordm - re your plans for tomorrow. That's quite a drive - I hope you have done sufficient training. Had a little look on the map- don't now how you can tolerate living in such a filthy, grime-ridden urban hell-hole.
Get your s**t together man. Send me your e-mail address, and I can forward you the details of some lovely flats in Brixton/ St Pauls in Bristol, and various other delightful crime-free utopias in urban Britain. You know it makes sense.
PS - if you need to find work, I hear that McDonalds are recruiting, and quite prepared to pay full minimum wage, Good luck bruv.
