RE: Bid for IAG. Maybe one of the American Airlines22 Oct 2022 12:10
fordm -"...it will confirm what we already know, we are governed by a bunch of egomaniacal morons".
Correct - I've been saying it for years. But it's one thing for you and I to say it on a bulletin board, or some bloke in a pub to say it, but did you see the Charles Walker interview/rant.?
"Inexcusable", "pitiful", "disgrace", "shambles", "appalling". And then the bit I really like -"I've had enough of talentless people putting their tick in the right box, not because it's in the national interest, but because it's in their own personal interest...". Nailed it. And that's from a dyed-in-the-wool Tory MP who's been in parliament for 17 years. Says it all really.
I also liked a quote attributed to Deputy Chief Whip Craig Whittaker - "I'm f***ing furious, and I don't give a f*** anymore". Couldn't have put it better myself.
At another time, if the country were in a better place, it might be almost funny, but with the mess the country is in, and the huge problems facing us right now, it is - quite literally - unforgivable.
Anyway, that's enough about that. As far as IAG goes, I can't believe it's almost the end of October already, with our results out on Friday. Obviously we have already had the positive heads-up about that, but as others on here have already commented on, it's the projections for next year that could prove critical. Plus obviously there are macro factors beyond our control - are we expecting anything from the Fed next week? Also not sure how the outcome of the latest leadership farce may affect things.
My end-of-month stab-in-the-dark at the price here (£1.14) is looking fairly good just now, but hopefully it will prove wildly inaccurate, as the price surges into the 130's.
