Well, this is disappointing, to put it politely. Or really f***ing annoying to put it less politely. Should have known that after such a good day with Rolls yesterday, it was asking too much to have another good day today. A drop is one thing, but almost 8%? Seriously? I even made the mistake of buying a few more earlier, expecting a bounce back - luckily only a small amount.
Still, not the end of the world - will just require a little more patience (hopefully). No Dom Perignon today though - that will have to wait. Peroni it is.

As for the Air Europa deal - interesting timing, and I would think - good news.

Apart from here, some of my (meagre) holdings include Lloyds and Rolls. Lloyds results were out on Tuesday, and have led to a small increase in their share price. Rolls results were out today, and have led to a substantial increase in their share price. So tomorrow I will be looking for the hat-trick.
Unfortunately, our results here fall on the same day as the first anniversary of the start of the Ukraine conflict. I just hope that the psychotic dwarf in the Kremlin doesn't choose tomorrow to do something that might spook the markets.

Rolls Royce up almost 20% on the back of todays positive results/statement.
I'll take that here tomorrow quite happily.

Big week coming up, with results due not just here, but other big players like Rolls Royce. Be interesting to see where are this time next next week.
I see that others here are already deciding which vehicle to splurge their (hopefully) new found wealth on .Obviously quite heavily invested, because even if things go well for me, I will still only be looking at getting a second-hand Ford Cortina. If things go really well, it might be the 2.0 litre version.

As for the price here, I have just ditched a few shares from a "day" trade in order to reduce my exposure, while still holding my longer-term investment. If it jumps up next week, then great - if it should drop, then I am quite happy that it will recover over the next few months.
I seem to recall somebody earlier talking about a "crystal ball". I actually have one of these, but it is totally useless at predicting anything - it just looks quite nice on the sideboard.

Wizard - had something similar just a few months back, with an unsolicited call about my Vodafone shares - which I hadn't even owned for about 3 years. Defo scam. Basically, any unsolicited approach from anybody, about anything, is best treated with hostility.

Got to laugh. Looking at my trading account from last week, and it's not a pretty sight - although overall it's still been an excellent start to the year. Anyway, it got me thinking about an article in The Sunday Times from a couple of weeks ago. It was an interview with Nicolai Tangen, the CEO of Norways sovereign wealth fund - currently valued at roughly £1,100,000,000,000. When he took over in 2020, he "lost" £140,000,000,000 in the first 6 months (since recovered, and increased). During the course of the interview ( about 1 hour) it dropped by approximately £900,000,000. Of course, that sounds horrific, but in reality is just a perfectly regular fluctuation of only 0.08%. Mind boggling. Certainly puts my piffling little loss last week into perspective.
Got to love those Norwegians, they seem to get just about everything right, and their government could certainly teach ours a thing or two about how to run the country properly.
Anyway, hoping for better next week - if things go well, perhaps my own personal wealth fund will hit £1,000,000,000,000.

debate. I have my opinion, but I'll save it for another day.
b) Lloyds - you must be feeling pretty smug about now. Good call about bailing out when you did - bet even you didn't think you would be back here in the 150's quite so soon.
c) A very depressing day for me - took a real pounding - not just here, but across the board. Looking at my trading account from 2 weeks ago, or even yesterday evening, is not great. Then I gave myself a slap across the face, and reset my screen to end of play on Dec 30 last year. Suddenly things look very different (and much better). I recommend it as a stress management tool.

Feeling guilty, so have decided to confess. Todays price plunge is entirely my fault.
Had a little spare cash, so having seen the drop from about 173 to 167, decided to try a little day trade. That was Tuesday - now here we are.
What's the opposite of Warren Buffet? Buffetless Warren? Might make that my new screen name.
Can only apologise unreservedly, and will shortly be flogging myself with a cat o' nine tails as punishment, and a goodwill gesture to all holders here.
The fact that I would normally do that on a Friday afternoon anyway, is purely coincidental.

Lloyds - just like to echo what others have said here. Your posts are much appreciated, so hope that we will continue to hear from you - just hope that it doesn't take a return to £1.50 for that to happen. I myself have sold a few here (and in EZJ) just so I can sleep a bit better at night. Still holding quite a chunk ( by my pitifully low, proletarian standards) - happy to hold those for the longer term, and will also dip in and out occasionally, hopefully buying the inevitable dips ; if only life (and investing) were that simple.
Fordm - surprised to see you here this morning - would have thought that by now you would have donned your lederhosen, strapped some cowbells to your knee-high socks ,stuffed your backpack with Hobnobs, and set off for a yomp in the mountains. No doubt merrily belting out "The Lonely Goatherd" as you strode along.
Coincidentally, I am wearing my Austrian shepherd outfit this morning, but that's purely because I am scheduled to "rescue" Heidi the "stranded milkmaid" from my basement later. Hopefully she will be appropriately grateful.
