On Thursday of this week, it will be exactly 3 years since Bojo, doing his best Churchill impression, told us "you MUST stay home" In that moment, the whole IAG business model was effectively expunged.
Anyway, 2 years of insanity followed. Just as some kind of normality beckoned, Putin made his move, and Europe was plunged into some kind of existential crisis. Energy price rises, inflation, and a cost of living crisis soon followed. Not to mention our self inflicted political turmoil, and fallout from Brexit.
3 years? Seems more like 10 - which is about how much I have aged. Wonder what's coming over the hill? Alien invasion? Nuclear conflict? Swarms of locusts?
Whatever it is, it won't be good.

Just a quick apology for my ramblings last night. After what we all surely agree was a stressful week, I took refuge in the local boozer, and sought solace from 2 of my best mates - Peroni and Smirnoff. Inexcusable, I know - but we are all fallible.

Just seen that Lance Reddick (star of "The Wire") has died. Only two years after Michael K Williams (star of "The Wire") also died.
Before the haters start pounding on me for prattling on about stuff that's not about the share price, let me just say this -
"The Wire" (without question, the greatest TV drama ever made) deals with multiple complex issues, among which is corporate greed, corruption, and the influence that said corporations, and also public institutions (eg. the police, local government) have on people's everyday lives. It's basically a critique of modern day capitalism, and if you think that doesn't affect the share price here, you are a cretin.
If you have never watched it, you're life has been wasted, and you know nothing.
Watch it.

The rollercoaster strikes again - after a plunge of about 6p it will now probably spike up by about half that.
Rinse and repeat. It's a form of torture.

About 3 and a half years ago, I officially turned my back on AIM shares, after getting burned once too often, and resolved to only deal in more reliable, or "safe" shares from the main indices. That was shortly before Covid.
Now here I am 3 years later, looking on as my (meagre) portfolio of almost entirely FTSE100/250 stocks take yet another kicking. The only holding I have showing positive is my sole AIM listing, which is up 100% in two weeks - unfortunately it's such an insignificant investment that it will make virtually no difference overall.
I am tempted to sell everything, head off to the casino, and put it all on black. Then once the ball has stopped rolling, it will either be a one-way taxi ride to Beachy Head, or a first-class air ticket to Barbados.

PS - I see EZJ is getting an even worse battering than IAG today.

What a turbulent week it's been - down, up, down, up, and now(so far) up again. Unfortunately it's a slightly odd rollercoaster, where the drops are always steeper than the climbs. Hopefully the last sector of this ride will return us to ground level in due course.
Anyway, it makes for a jolly exciting ride. Now if I can just get these chest pains to go away....

What a day - about as much fun as a prostate exam from Edward Scissorhands.
As Lloyds mentioned earlier, and I have spoken about previously, with this share it's a never-ending succession of problems and setbacks - just one thing after another, after another, after another, ad infinitum. Every time you think you can see light at the end f the tunnel, and stumble towards it, it turns out not to be the exit you had hoped for, but just a homeless wino messing about with a torch he found (I may soon be that homeless wino). Like others here, I cannot believe I didn't take the chance to bail out a few weeks ago (yes, it was only a matter of weeks ago that we were £1.70 plus). Should we get back to £1.60 plus during my lifetime, I will be out for good. I need to find a less stressful way of making a few quid: playing roulette (possibly Russian) or maybe being a rent-boy. I understand that KY jelly is tax deductible.

My three biggest holdings are down by 7.0%, 6.5% and 6.8%.
F*** this, I'm off to the pub, where I fully intend to dramatically reduce my meagre cash holdings by a substantial %, while simultaneously boring the s**t out of the barmaid with my tale of financial woe.
fordm - this situation would appear to have been caused largely by the Credit Suisse situation. As you live there, I hold you entirely responsible for this epic debacle. Shame on you.

After such a good day yesterday, a slight retrace was always a possibility - but I certainly didn't anticipate todays utter carnage.

Not so much 'crappy' as absolutely ******* diabolical. Must be the worst day since, well...... Monday.
