Yet another "buying opportunity".

"Weak hands" are no good on this crazy rollercoaster - you need a grip of steel to hang on to the safety bar as you drop into yet another vertiginous descent, while simultaneously screaming and vomiting.

Down 4 pence in 40 mins - WTF!

Myself, I hope that by this time next year the IAG share price will be £3, I will have just purchased (for cash) a detached 300 year old cottage in rural Sussex, and am looking forward to moving in once my lingerie model wife and myself have retuned from our honeymoon in Mauritius.
And some people accuse me of being a dreamer!

I have changed my mind about these long Bank Holiday weekends, and now appreciate what they bring - a nice steady share price, with none of the usually volatility, and the stress that can accompany that: less of a rollercoaster, more of a comfy, familiar old armchair. Looking forward to the next one already.
Unfortunately, reality will rear its' ugly, pockmarked face shortly. At least there were no noticeable catastrophes for the markets over the weekend (pandemics, banking crises, invasions etc. etc.) - although the Chinese shenanigans around Taiwan are a massive problem in the longer term. Be happy to end the week in mid 150's, but really, who the hell knows?

Unfortunately, we seem to be trapped in an eternal cycle of waiting for the next set of results/update. Skindle summed it up nicely earlier, with his comment about a selling opportunity as opposed to yet another "buying opportunity".
Anyway, I have decided to spend my time more productively - mulling over more existential issues, such as "Why am I here?" "What's it all about?" "How do I find happiness?" - and, most importantly, "How do I get the fluff out of my navel?"

Hope we are all firmly strapped in for another exciting, rollercoaster week. Only 4 trading days before the long Easter weekend - Lord only knows what I will do with myself for 4 whole days while the markets are closed.
Hoping for a nice consolidation in the 150's this week - I'll be happy with 155/156 come 4.30 on Thursday. Then it's just a matter of hoping nothing catastrophic happens over the long weekend - no metaphorical meteorite strikes. Or, given recent history, no actual meteorite strikes.

I've never understood that teacup thing either - real men, such as myself, only ever use a mug. But what can you expect from people who eat Hobnobs?
Not sure about the cloud thing either - when I replaced my laptop, the acne-riddled 19 year old salesperson in the shop waffled on about that for 5 minutes. He might as well have been speaking Chinese. I store most of my information in an A4 pad I bought in W.H. Smith.

Tomski - nice to see you on this board. I am also invested in Rolls, and occasionally have a peek at that board, but don't contribute myself. Anyway, your comment there the other day that a house should be a home, and not an investment vehicle, was one of the most profound and insightful posts I have seen on any board. Good stuff - let's hope IAG can follow the example set by the Rolls share price over the last few weeks. Cheers.

Lloyds - deffo agree with your comment on the macro situation. "Summer Season" is fast approaching - less than 5 weeks until May! Just require some stability until then.
Unfortunately, over the next couple of months, there are a shedload of bank holidays - the usual Easter/ May ones, plus extra for the coronation. So there will be a few periods of no trading for 3, or even 4 days in a row. Given the sudden shocks and volatility that have (unfortunately) now become almost predictable in their unpredictability, it will require strong nerves, or titanium testicles, to hold during those periods. Looking forward to June.

Well, after that unexpected and brutal storm - forcing our retreat to basecamp to seek shelter - the weather seems to be clearing quite nicely. Having patched ourselves up ( no fatalities, fortunately), and having a well deserved rest, we are now setting out for another attempt on the snow-capped summit, which is now visible again through the pale sunlight and patchy cloud.
Hopefully we have learned our lesson - at this altitude the weather can be highly unpredictable, and conditions can deteriorate rapidly. Hence, I think that on this upcoming attempt, it would be advisable to take the slightly easier, though marginally longer route up the South face, rather than the quicker, but more dangerous, vertiginous North face. from which we have just retreated.
Anyway, please check your oxygen cannisters before we set off - you never know when you might need them. Good luck everyone - see you at Camp 3.
