See that the FTSE is up again today - that's 6 days out of 7 this year, and now close to an all-time high, although admittedly that only takes it back to where it was 5 years ago. Is it due for a retrace?, If so, will we be dragged down with it? Can't believe Santa didn't bring me a crystal ball, especially after I specifically requested one.

Hi fordm - happy new year. No, not sold up, just been distracted by other things, plus I do tend to go into hibernation at this time of year. Hope Switzerland is being kind to you: things are pretty crap here just now - not only does it appear that the wheels have come off, but the chassis is broken as well. God only knows where it will all end. Or maybe things are fine, and it's just that I'm a miserable git.
Anyway - be interesting to see how this whole sector fares over the next 12 months. Surely it can't be any worse than last year? Then again, that's exactly what I said last year. And the year before that.
Still, it should be an interesting ride. Good luck to me, you, and all other genuine investors.
PS - at least in this time of national crisis, we can all still rely on the reassuring presence, and comforting decorum, of our royal family. Ha ha ha....

Danphonic - haven't heard from you in ages - good to welcome a former regular back into the fold, and congrats on the new arrival - even if he/she will be keeping you skint for the next couple of decades. Then again with the current trajectory in this sector, hopefully that won't happen.

Another good week - I could get used to this. A couple more like it and 2022 may not end up being the disaster it was shaping up to be just a month or two ago. Of course, it could go belly up at any minute, but I am trying to stay positive (it doesn't come easy to me).

At the start of October we flirted with dipping below 90p. That means we have climbed over 50% in just 6 weeks - amazing - and well done to those who topped up in that price range. "Fortune favours the brave". Unfortunately I had no funds to do that myself, and I am still under water. However, when you have sunk so deep you think you are actually destined to drown, that first breath as you manage to resurface tastes pretty sweet.
Or to put it another way, sometimes when you are facing a big loss, a small win can feel just as good, or even better, than a big win. Everything's relative.

jtan - airport drop-off and pickup charges are a disgrace. Imagine if your local supermarket/pub/kebab house started charging you -not for parking - but just to go there, or to be collected after you have just spent money with them. You wouldn't go back would you? Unfortunately, the airports have you by the short and curlie's, but it's still an outrage, and doesn't incentivise travelling.
Anyway, I see that we have just begun the day positively, so looking forward to another good day (hopefully). Despite the continued headwinds and economic problems, it does seem that sentiment around this whole sector has turned around - finally. Fingers (and other extremities) crossed.

AC is getting pretty excited, I can tell you - as he can see his release price of £1.60 (£1.50 with good behaviour) beginning to come into view.
