Quite agree I don't believe the builders can stop building houses but it has happened. Hope your move into psn works for you, I'm ok with the few I have bought in the £3 s years ago

I'm not sure the government will be happy with builders stopping building houses at the moment. If it does happen one solution would be to use some of the landbank in a joint venture with a property company such as st. Modwin who are very good at providing affordable homes

Hi Nige. That was quite witty but i don't think they were named after a president of US. Frank Taylor started building houses with his uncle Woodrow in 1921 , took over Bryant in 2001 then Wilson Connolly making it the largest house builder at that time

Thanks, it's a good rule did me ok last year. Been trying to put some old Taylor Woodrow shares certificates into my Isa, there still valid but isa provider won't touch them., back to the registrar again

Hi Nige. I've been following what you have been saying about your rule 17. Last year I held on to my trading pot shares after the first divi then sold before the x divi date of the special, bought them all back since. Is this within the rules :))

The way the indices have been rising this red day has been on the cards, it's making the yield on this share very good. I don't keep much cash the interest rates are so poor at the moment, I have got too much in aim shares especially SOU, CERP but been exciting. My two main divis stocks are Mars and TW. their yield could reach 10% at these levels

Hi Tom. I expect your right short term. I want them to do well , for me I have a lot in here but I am nervous of a downturn after losing loads in 2008 and still trading to get it back

I think TWs strategy needs to change fast and get back into apartment blocks for more affordable homes to match what the government wants. There seems to be a lot of sites with an over supply of 3 4 and 5 bedroom houses in my opinion

Hi Cacher couple of good finds. Most of that from the share mag I heard Ralph Finlay say at the agm but I don't remember him saying about the closure of the CW plant at Bedford Some of the downturn came from some closures of premises due to refurbs just before Xmas like our local shut for 3 weeks that's a big loss. Took till after Xmas for trade to come back but very busy now. RF also stated that the recently opened new builds haven't got to their full potential yet and the CW acquisition will gradually add to the profits this coming year Overall it should be very good year for profit growth in my opinion

I wish the Marstons shareholder card had the discount off the beer as well as the food like greene king and M&B. A friend of ours bought a bond in Innis & Gunn a small Scottish brewery and she says they keep sending her loads of cans . She doesn't drink it all, and asked us if we would like some. I'm sat impatiently waiting for the next delivery
