Most of my dividends come into my ISA after many years of topping it up so not worried either way. Since I retired I've been moving all my shares into the ISA not got many left outside
You are right it is their prerogative but I bet they will be worried about their own shares when the time comes to end the special

The next divi is 3.84 but next years is 3.8

My error but you know what I meant but the fact remains the final and interim divi is going to be fractionally lower 3.8 rather than 3.84
Why didn't they change the strategy and lift the ordinary and keep the special the same or cut it
I would prefer a gradual cut in future specials rather than a sudden removal

The sp will probably hit the jackpot in the future but short term what is keeping it depressed is the paying of annual special divi and what happens when it finishes
Linking the ordinary divi to % of profits could lead to downward payouts and that's what's happened
Increasing costs can only get higher with a falling pound and rising iron ore prices

Top up time must be getting closer. I didn't top up last week cos I was half expecting a drop. Going to wait though not tempted yet
Tom just keep picking up the divi you will soon have all your investment back at this rate :))
Glad I got rid of my lloyds who would have thought 52p. Who was it on here said the main market was safer than Aim :))

The good points are all revolving around the customer first strategy, probably still to early to show any meaningful effect to the share price
The market doesn't like special divis so increasing it a bit gives out the wrong signals, ok for shareholders though :))

I didn't think it was that good with margins down to 18%, additional costs are eating into profits and geographical spread also effecting profits, plus high injury rate
I was hoping to see more emphasis on increasing the ordinary divi not the special which would have given the market a signal of future confidence

I'm reading that slightly differently,if they are paying out c11p then the ordinary divi is likely to be lower reflecting the higher costs and lower margins
Bit concerned with the injury rate , this half is more than the whole of last year. Injuries = time lost

You say the imbalance on supply will not change for years, it probably won't but people's attitudes or needs will.
Everyday on the local news there are 2 things happening the demise of our urban centres and the continued house building expansion on farm land.
The demand for 3-4 bed houses will have to slow down there will be more and more opposition to building on green spaces even with the Bojo rhetoric and we are running out of land
The youth of today don't want to live out of town with many not being able to afford cars, they want inner city living

The obvious answer to me is for high street landlords to get together with builders to reinvigorate our high streets and get people back into towns

Cerp has been a traders paradise recently and is only for that type of investor, I'm stuck in it with a large holding if the next drill in Sep comes off and the brokers target of 25p is reached then it's back to looking at boats :))

Not being nosey at all but aren't you putting too much in one basket, I couldn't sleep at night but the divi here is good

My other half has £1500 in divis to reinvest
I worked out that Bp are going x divi on 8 Aug and paying out over 8p on 21 Sep or thereabouts that would give her £22 per quarter, or put it in here and get £32 in Nov or in Ggp if it gets to 2.1p that's £100 profit(it did that on Thursday) but it's up to her. She bought Croda below a £ so whose the expert here :)) not me apparently

Most pubs are quiet now at 9pm, Marstons managed pubs display the opening and closing times and they have to stick to it cos it shows up on the tills
Most tenanted pubs will close when not busy and the food is finished.
Pubs are ripe pickings for developers , most all got car parks and land
A harvester in Worcester has been bought by McDonald's for a drive thru looks like it might not get through planning as it's opposite a new school , probably end up as flats

I've never come across a share like Ggp before and I've had shares since '78
This is the biggest gold find in living memory according to Primorus RNS
Loads of news could land at anytime
Even my other half wants some and she doesn't like Aim and that's saying some
I haven't even mentioned the copper which could be a £1.5bn asset
Why is it only 2p cos the asset isn't proven which is why the firm Newcrest are bringing in their 4th rig to accelerate
I'm not really bothered if other investors don't want to join me and Tom on this ride but they won't find another one like it

If I remember rightly the last change in stamp duty didn't have much effect on the sp

On July 25 2017 the sp was £1.83
On July 25 2018 the sp was £1.75
On July 25 2019 the sp was £1.74
So with all the Brexit rubbish,political uncertainty, increase profits, increase divis and massive special divis the sp has flat lined
What does this company have to do to make a substantial rise in its sp ?
