I'm digressing from the divi debate I've been reading bits of the climate change report that was released recently. As far as I can make the house building and construction in general is going to go through an upheaval like the motor industry The phasing out of natural gas boilers will have the biggest impact. All electric is not the answer unless every home is made self sufficient. There are systems already on the market ie air to air and ground to air source pumps but they take a huge amount of electric to run them, external radiators on the roofs to provide warm water but is determined on solar The reports focus is mainly changing to no emissions using hydrogen ITM power are mentioned in the report as they are trialling putting 20% hydrogen into the gas grid from renewable sources not from oil sources Inspirit energy are developing a new boiler that can produce 6.4kwh of electric as well as gas heating but the size is too big for a modern kitchen. They have got the size down to 800mm at the mo but it can run on hydrogen as well Ilika are developing solid state batteries for storage facilities and are much more advanced than competitors at the moment In conclusion in my opinion house designs will have to change imminently to meet demands of this report

Hi Nige I don't know where politics is going but I know where it has gone. Down the drain :)) With only 2 weeks to x divi day I can't see this getting to £2, it might spike next week but I'm getting less hopeful ATB:))

Hi flexmw If the cash remains in an Isa and is not taken out it can then be transferred to another broker Best to talk to the brokers involved first I've heard of some people transferring stocks ok in 4 weeks but that's not Barclays

Hi Tom Must be ten years since I was in VOD came out with small profit the sp not moved much since. I was in and out of itv couple of years ago broke even with divi really glad I didn't stay. Its been a difficult market this last year apart from house builders, I'm investing in companies with global assets not mainly UK The gold company we are in is my hedge stock apart from being in a great position for growth these next few months. My biggest losers to date are Solo Oil, Cadence minerals and Victoria oil and gas all badly run in my opinion ATB:))

Hi Owls Sometimes AIM stocks are volatile but not as bad as the main index In the last 10 years or so I've had 7 stocks bankrupt or near collapse Magnolia petroleum AIM William Sinclair - fertilizers main index Afren oil main index Carillion main index Debenham main index Interserve main index And the last one Tw main index The first four all collapsed the next 2 I sold out on way down. Tw I've eventually regained my money plus a lot more So I can't say that AIM is more volatile than the main index. To invest in AiM I've learnt when in profit get out or top slice. My investment in ggp I've top sliced they are all free shares now :))))))

Hi PinWiz My experience with transferring an Isa out of Barclays was traumatic after 2 years it's still not complete. I tried to transfer the stocks over with hundreds of phone calls from me and then Carillion went bump in the middle of it and that is still holding up the final transfer. If I was to do it again I would liquidate and just transfer the cash over but that's just my opinion , better to ask the broker Good luck :))

Hi Tom I'm in a good profit too 0.6p to 1.6p . To get that same growth with Tw from the 12 month lows of £1.20 you would need it to be in the £3.50 now Ggp can still double or treble from here not much down side at mo A chap at the cricket was telling me he had 20 penny stocks a few went bump, 10 lost money, some made a profit but the last one has seen him do very well with cruises every year I hope this is ggp :))

Hi Tom Not good news but I was half expecting a clamp down. Tw have put in some measures of compensation this time last year they had rectified/sorted 90% of lease problems. Not heard anything from Psn or others

Hi Tom That's a good price very tempting. Can't see those low prices lasting very long especially when the drilling starts. Lot of good news from my little stocks lately esp Alba, Jlp, Itm, Prim. I can't say the same for my divi stocks news flow lately has been minimal ATB:))

Hi Tom Are you really going to reinvest all your divis in Tw, I'm not too sure what to do with mine, the growth in Britvic recently has been phenomenal and will probably put mine there on any weakness. I intend to keep it in my divi stocks and not in my Aim shares although Ggp top up is tempting after the Prim statement ATB:))

Hi Tom With only 3 weeks to the x divi date £2 looks a long way off. Growth in all builders seems to be a struggle at the mo. I'm just sitting on my hands and will take the divi and waiting for the next 3.8p in Nov, no point keep changing only if there is a dramatic spike like you said ATB:))

I'm unsure what the sp is going to do this year up to the x divi date. The last few years the Capital Market Day when brokers have a question and answer session with the Bod has kicked started the rise. I'm not as bullish as Nige but I was hoping for 206. Whether it gets to that level we can only wait and see. ATB:))

Hi Moss Not sure myself now what is happening, I can't find any mention of one this year. On their corporate section from the web site it says "from the Capital Market Day Presentation of 15 May 2018 we confirmed our intentions to make further capital returns to shareholders in 2020 and beyond. The Board will keep the mechanics of how the Company will pay special dividends, including the merit of undertaking a share buyback at some point should it become appropriate to do so under regular review" Also" the Ordinary dividend will be paid equally as a final dividend in May and an interim dividend in November" Looks like they don't need to inform the Brokers this year of any intentions ATB:))

Hi Tom Don't think it's the pay day that will make it rise, tomorrow should be the capital markets day, that should be the catalyst. Can't see anything else happening to get it to £2 ATB:))

A takeover of Tw would be expensive. I believe there are stock market rules governing t/o the prices must reflect the high 12 monthly sp as far as I'm aware, that's over £6 bn to start with . Will the board accept that, I doubt it they know as well as we do the sp is way under value. BH would have to stump up no less than £10bn, can they afford it looks like it. I can't see a bidding was though. Hi Nige I have to disagree with your comment about builders not being cyclical anymore. They are prone to consumer confidence , recessions etc The last person to say there would be no more boom and bust made one almighty blunder

Positive news from material suppliers Ibstock, Polypipe and Travis Perkins. Ibstock have opened a new brick making plant which should help to increase stocks and reduce the demand for imported bricks, sp low at the moment good share to have. Polypipe sp quite high but sales and profits rising slowly Travis sales have remained good Sales on all 3 will decline on any building downturn.

Hi Nige,Tom Bit of a drop today but I'm still confident of a rise after the Capital Markets Day next week hopefully to 206, can't really see it getting to 214 and then dropping back to these levels. Nige - Victrex had a big drop yesterday due to the state of the car market definitely one to watch ATB:))

Hi garageman Psn build far more timber frame structures than Tw as do Bdev. Psn bought Westbury Homes who had a big factory producing timber frames. It's easier to conform to Building Regulations with timber frame. I'm unaware of an issue with Tw I took over an apartment block in Worcester 4 floors of timber frame before the brick skin went on. I had to rely on the bricklayers to install the firestops between the bricks and frame correctly even with regular checks you can't see everything. Even in a traditional built semi there can be voids between the properties, the older the property the more likelihood of no firestops can be an issue. For Psn and Bdev this issue could last a long time, the life span of the timber frames could be more of an issue.

Hi Nige If you have overlooked Croda you might have missed Victrex as well. Both were the old ICI companies. Croda are into cosmetics and chemicals while Victrex do high quality plastics for auto industry and medical. I bought Victrex around the £1.50 range similar rise to Croda but not so dramatic. Not long now till the capital markets day let's hope Tw rises on good news ATB:))
