CV19 is such a huge impact that I expect its effects on retail to be permanent. If delivered grocery shopping continues to improve a lot of people are going to ask why they wasted so much time trudging the aisles of dreary, crowded supermarkets when there are better ways of passing the time.

Obviously the sp will remain flat because having extra capital is not very meaningful until its use is made clear. Things in the UK are returning to normal because the government has decided they should. I don't believe that the risk will decrease for the foreseeable future and especially when the 'flu season arrives. These viruses are still beyond our control as demonstrated by their resurgence in places though to have controlled CV19.

Many people will have shunned online grocery shopping (like my wife) until now and then when they try it find that they actually like it. The better it becomes, the more people will take to it.

Had these since last century and all the time I've sat there thinking it's relatively safe, hang on, it'll come good. Meanwhile other stocks have powered past. Fine, I thought, AV. pays a bit more divi and I'll just keep reinvesting. So it was the last straw when they took away the divi this time. I have hugely downsized my holding and bought into other companies like LGEN, MNG, AZN, RDSB, GSK and half a dozen others. Should have been more active years ago really instead of clinging to the wreckage! It's more fun anyway..

But SEE has taken too much of the time value of my money and so I sold. I'll have done you lot a big favour because when I do that it usually means the stock's gonna rocket. Ever the philanthropist, me.

Not just for the sake of it. I have put forward an idea regarding the use to which the funds might be put in the hope others might have useful contributions of the same sort.

Take RDSB for an example of a company that withheld the dividend - a form of capital raising - and it says it is no longer just an oil company. On the strength of that I have taken positions in two companies that might be targets of an oil company trying to change its spots. Today they are my best performing stocks. But I won't ramp them here!

Yes of course, a no-brainer but I was looking for more detail. The devil is in the detail.

It seems remarkable that Steiner has pulled this off. He's just asked for 1bn without giving any clear idea of what he plans to do with it and people fall over themselves to hand him their money. What's more the UK gdp has just nose-dived faster than the red arrows. What's more ocdo don't make a profit, for which achievement Steiner rewards himself handsomely.

Just wonder if this price is going to be affected by OCDO acquiring £1bn extra capital for expansion. I assume they will need warehouse space and they already use Segro.

Also, would say that it's one thing to produce vehicles and another to find customers.

It puzzles me why suddenly AV. has suddenly attracted a fan club whose euphoric endorsements are not supported by any news or real evidence that this company has changed its ways, especially given managements craven and pointless kow-towing to government.

Moreover, what sense does it make to be so enthusiastic about one company when its competitors are also sound propositions with what seems to be more competent management.

I also find it disturbing that Av. is getting involved in HSBA's Hong Kong difficulties. Should the company so publicly air that sort of dirty washing ? What is the point?

RDSB cuts its dividend and upsets its shareholders
BP. cuts its staff, keeps the dividend and its shareholders are still not satisfied

Whilst I am a dispassionate invester I have never quite decided to buy BP. and despite its low sp and my strategy of eggs and baskets I still can't buy BP. They make me too nervous.

Understand that there is a bit of a cull going on at Topps. It's likely the lockdown gave management a few ideas about how many staff/branches they actually need.

Not much higher and I can sell my last AV.s at a profit - famous last words! But I'd really like cash right now.
