Today is possibly a good day to have cash?

Likewise but back in April at 413p. My saviours so far have been OCDO and XPP. Long may it last.. I cannot see a return into bank shares any time soon even if they do look cheap. What do they do that will spark their recovery while the global economy is struggling and nationalism is creating barriers?

I've taken profits here and there and am 10% in cash. I prefer to be invested but it looks like more trouble ahead.

You have to be able to trust a company to invest. I got out at 259 acting on advice and at the moment I'm disinclined to return.

What was the slight , slight miswording? Still it brought them coverage in main stream media and we all know the value of publicity.

Yesterday I was told this rise was premature they were so convincing I took my profits. Think I owe them a drink!

Could just be playing catch-up. Charts say that over a year Hiscox fell further than Aviva for some reason. Not a company I have been following so I don't know any more.

Some people just like getting the attention. It keeps us on our toes, however!

A weak momentum is quite normal with Aviva. Just be thankful it is up at the moment.

Took profits at 259. I like this company but could do with funds right now and anyway it's alway possible a dip will arrive when I have a bit of cash to get back in.

Made a cautious re-entry at 299p. Only a 50% re-entry while I wait and see. I still have 75% of this year's ISA allowance available.

I would imagine someone has taken out buy options on this stock in the hope of some news, thus ramping up the price. They could be right but history suggests AV. is a poor choice. Nevertheless, it's probably less risky than actually buying the bloody things.

Yes, the internet is very helpful for discovering that sort of thing.

That's an interesting tale of a company that read the US market rather well. I'm sure OCDO is towed along in the wake of the passion for tech over the pond, nevertheless it seems clear to me that the company is walking its own path with its own ideas and they suit the times we are in. I would say that with their savvy CEO and staff it can only be a recipe for success whatever games are played by Softbank and their ilk.

Clearly this is not a EU imposed tax. Countries involved include Turkey and the UK neither of which are in the EU.
