Shorting is not illegal and has a legitimate function . However,there are occasions when false information is utilised to drive a share price down illegitimately . Dolcoath - if Leon Cooperman wants to go after the directors and is justified In doing so and in respect of the time he was a shareholder, he will not simply involve the FCA ,but will issue proceedings in the High Court for damages . The moment for directors to worry about, is if he brings proceedings and alleges fraud ! Then,if proven, the directors insurance policies will not pay out !

As well as Fiserv ! Has anyone carried out any detailed research into Fiserv ? If so, could they post some comments ,so that some of us can consider putting the scraps left from our support of Monitise into Fiserv !

mjv - the gripe is,that clearly Bidco think the company is worth more than the bid ! Why reserve their right to make an increased offer ,if another bidder appears ? That is what probably galls a lot of folk !

WOF- I believe, rightly or wrongly, that the deal will get rejected. Life after that is the big question ? If there is/are another body or bodies interested then I suspect they will not want to hang around .The longer they do ,the more expensive it will become to takeover the company ; and don't forget, Fiserv have publically reserved the right to increase their offer, should another bidder appear ! It's almost as though they expect it !

I expect Fiserv used some fancy company to do their due diligence and paid them a fancy fee for the privilege ! A floor is certainly established ,but the value of the company is far greater IMHO !
