It was clear for much of yesterday that something was afoot ! This announcement has been hinted at for the last six months or so ! Hence the big drop from twelve months ago! I read last night an adviser from the USA , commenting upon Apple and for why he was avoiding the shares for the time being . .He expected the shares of suppliers to be destroyed ! Nevertheless , Apple is still “ KING “ ! IQE ‘s shareprice has dropped but that is in line with the market in which it is involved ! It is still making a good profit , for its size and produces 90 % of the wafers that matter in the world ! They supply contractors of Apple and other companies , so that a dip in orders from Apple does not mean a dip elsewhere ! In fact the effect on IQE’s income seems a lot less than on Lumentum ! You also have to remember that IQE has a lot more feathers to its bow than just supplying contractors of Apple ! So , I expect a rebound, particularly after the Brexit announcement this evening ! I take my hat off to the Prime Minister for the way that she has dealt with this issue ! Nobody will be happy ! That is a sign of a good compromise !

I recollect that the Board mentioned that they were interviewing a short list of candidates for the CFO position , just a few weeks back . Did they not ? It is always the case that there are sometimes no suitable applicants in such a process; and there is then usually a further search for the right person ! This could be the case here but who knows ! I venture that it is a great job for the right person ! Once the appointment is sealed and delivered then the company will be obliged to announce it by way of a RNS !

You can’t buck the market , Tony ! A lot of shareholders here have done amazingly well over the last couple of years ! I suspect that there will be a recovery in the share price in the next few months , but what do I know !

It is stated that the projected PEG for the next financial year is 0.70 ! I am no expert on these sort of things, but if I remember correctly , Jim Slater would have been pretty effusive about that type of figure!

I tend to agree with you Tony ! Of course the directors may be hamstrung in what they can say publically ! NDA's and all that sort of stuff ! I am sure that there must be ways and means of getting the message across ! This is the problem about a company that is positioned down the pipeline ! Not many people know that you exist ! The company is profitable and has a good PEG , so the shorters should not be ruling the roost here ! Ah well , maybe the appointment of a good Financial Director will sort it out !

IQE must be near to announcing the appointment of a new finance director : six months on from the sad demise of Phil . Final interviews took place this month : so unless there were no suitable candidates an announcement must be imminent . This should stabilise the share price ; particularly if the newbie buys a pile of shares at these bargain basement prices ! Well you would , wouldn’t you ? Now what was that PEG ?
