To be fair the managers performance had been stellar for many years so a few leaner years are disappointing but certainly not terminal.

When performance picks up the discount should narrow so at present on 8% discount purchases now could like quite smart over time.

Income trusts like this are longer term holds, not punting vehicles as evidenced by the nature of their holdings.

Liquidation by Chinese torture. Better policy would be to throw in the towel. But then there would be no undeserved management fees.

Indeed it does show the board in a pro active light, which is encouraging.

Good news. Enhanced income policy.

I've been gradually buying this over the last few months, largely because of the discount but also because I like their portfolio in general, which to me made it an attractive trust.

What has happened with Saba trying to force boards of trusts on big discounts to close the discount recently is, for me, another reason to buy.

Only 2 weeks ago abrdn Asian Income' board instigated a continuation vote every 3 years, this has closed the discount down a few % already.
