Here is a stat regarding Trump v Labour. So far in 2026 the US economy has created over 550,000 new jobs. In the last 12 months under Labour, over 100,000 jobs have disappeared. You'd never believe that the one creating jobs is portrayed as the bad guy.

The rich often do exploit the poor, the poster has that right. There is some control with things like minimum wage. Ideally in a working society and I mean those who work, all full timers, even on minimum wage, should be able to afford decent accommodation and childcare. For those that don't, or can't, there should also be accommodation, but they should not receive a better deal than those who have toiled to pay their way, yet receive less quite often. The handsome salary you get for being on benefits these days is why the whole of society is breaking down and losing interest in working in the first place.

Totally agree with coming away from Trump, whatever the cost, it would cause pain but give respect, we should be in charge of our own defence and the nuclear button.

What is it about Trump you are so against? I see Britain as a total disaster right now, taxes rising, welfare system a total disaster with millions on benefits and people rewarded for not working, crime out of control especially shop lifting, nothing done to stop the boats which is costing tens of billions, the jobs market is a disaster, energy bills rising all the time. Why do you support this and criticise Trump who wants to fix all of these things? Biden Harris were a total disaster but you clearly support them.

I don't fear socialism. It's not communism. Furthermore I would say the USA is a sick country because of inequality, they have inequality because the rich are increasingly enabled to rob the ordinary people. Trump's grip on power is precisely because he and his minions instil fear of 'socialism' or indeed any form of kindness into the population. The extreme right in the UK are using the same tactics as US Republicans, which leads to National Socialism, i.e. Nazism. There was nothing socialist about Nazism, look to where it led. Hitler was empowered by wealthy industrialists, terrified by the Russian Civil war and the victory of communist dictators.

Burnham will have an incredibly hard job to decouple the UK from the US because it is dictated by financial interests, Wall Street on one side and the City of London on the other. He needs to stop our industries being sold to US asset strippers and our debt to US creditors, our defence capabilities being controlled by the Pentagon. That is what a real leader needs to do and it would involve pain but the alternative is for the UK to become a vassal state of a USA the like of which we never imagined a decade ago. Trumpism will not die with Trump.

I sold my holding here this morning at 676p for a 15pct overall profit - really like this company but I have reservations with regards to the new man coming in for Liebour - a real socialist if ever there was one - I suspect financial establishments will be in his sights once he settles in, as he looks to make a quick buck and appease the left wing of the party - I hold no stocks in finance at all now - preferring to concentrate on defensive stocks for the foreseeable - gla dyor etc.
