I guess the downgrading of future targets because of market weakness is why the shares have dropped over 10%. It doesn't look as if they expect demand to improve anytime soon.

Disappointing results but does say

"Despite the mixed financial results, International Paper emphasized its progress on strategic transformation initiatives aimed at long-term improvement. The company is targeting 2027 revenue of $27.0 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $5.5-6.0 billion through its transformation journey."

"Looking ahead to the third quarter of 2025, International Paper expects stronger earnings driven by higher volume and lower costs across all business segments. For PS NA, the company forecasts EBIT to improve from $277 million in Q2 to $404 million in Q3, driven by operations and costs improvements, lower maintenance outages, and stable volume. PS EMEA is expected to return to positive EBIT of $54 million, benefiting from higher volume, improved price/mix, and operational improvements."

Let's hope they come through with this.

To improve efficiencies and to respond to the evolving needs of our customers in what are tough trading conditions for the industry, International Paper can confirm a proposal to close five of its Packaging sites in the United Kingdom. Additional proposals also include the relocation of one site, the move from 24-7 to 24-5 operations at one site and a small headcount reduction at two further Packaging sites in the United Kingdom. International Paper expects the proposals would be implemented by the end of this calendar year and that approximately 300 roles may be affected.

I was a shareholder in DS Smith. I'm obviously now a shareholder in IP.

I received my first dividend from IP... it's a cheque for US dollars...

Nationwide won't accept it. Starling Bank doesn't accept it.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to cash it?
