Yes and then a little later I sold some BP shares at MY all time best price of £6.48.

Lucky devil as it was about that time that I bought my first 2 tranches of BP,£25K each,dont like to look at the contract notes but I did top up as it plummeted down to somewhere in the region of £2.93 in later weeks.

my view on how you would describe our dividend yield in per cent is to point out that as the share price goes lower the yield goes up and has a tendency to make people quote that it is a good dividend,but if the share could maintain last 2 highs the divi yield would be lower so best to look at the actual dividend paid per annum in pence and then check how much it was 5 years ago and one might come to the conclusion that it is a poor dividend now especially if you take into account recent inflationary pressures.Just my opinion and yes I would get out but cannot find a suitable stock to buy into save my old company SLB which does have that look that it is capable of growing 25% in the next 18 months.

And then came the oil spill and wiped over $60 billion of the company value.

BP plc has announced the issuance of a series of Guaranteed Notes totaling $2.5 billion, with varying maturity dates ranging from 2027 to 2034. The notes have been fully authorized and are considered valid and legally binding obligations of the company, in accordance with English law and the laws of New York and Delaware. This move is set to bolster BP’s financial structure and provide investors with new opportunities in the fixed-income market.

They purchased back $1Billion in higher yield notes in February. These guaranteed notes are at lower rates but still an additional to debt.
