I say, support it. We need to try to get something out of this charade. Indeed we damned well deserve for our patience with the sleeper BoD.
They did well at first and have gone right off the boil, almost to the point of "hands in the biscuit barrel".
Let's some plain digestives for ourselves too, even if all the chocolate and creams have gone.
I've got the message from HL there is going to be a vote on return of capital.... So how we should vote to protect small investors?... I have not been following and really have no clue what our response should be

DC - likewise i feel it's a total scam the way they're paying themselves a fortune each year to preside over failed court cases. I'd rather they'd dropped the court actions and returned the money to us shareholders. Now proposing to give us a small amount each and then waste the rest on final lost cause in court !
Just got notice of report & accounts and AGM. Having forgotten about this share I thought I’d just cast an eye over the numbers. One director getting £1m plus huge bonus for delivering a £7m loss made up of costs associated with failed legal cases. Genuinely speechless.

I wouldn't get too excited, that's only £5k !!!
Barely covers a night out at Stringfellows for these boys, with two magnums of Dom Perignon, a few servings of Beluga Caviar and several sides of Chunky Chips !!
(Not to mention a private lapdance or two !!)
😂😂😂
One of the directors just bought 100K shares -- why ????
I'm sure we will hear exciting news soon, like the bonuses the board will pay themselves in consideration of their successful efforts.
Doubtless they are all "Working from Home" to keep the costs down for us shareholders. So considerate.

It has a note saying it's a secure board and I have to send a screenshot of my shareholding to be granted access, which is a problem given I am looking to buy back in! I have sent a note saying this so will see if I get a response
You should be able to join blue share as its just a general share chat site.
Have never bought shares on Acquis so hopefully Interactive Investor can handle it.....
Good article, thanks for flagging.
Am thinking of buying back in here as risk reward looks good (I sold when the delisting was announced). Is all chat now on blue share?? Seems you can only join if you have a holding which is odd.....
So the final battle has begun.
PWC smeared all over the front page of the FT.
Two weeks in court.
Then a wait for judgement.

Me.
You're not alone on this boat.
Not holding as many as those days as can't afford to so released lots at big loss.
Not posting and following close now as I can't spend my precious lifetime on this.
Think I recognise Graham in here - if GrahamBarnes is the good gentleman I met when we went to a Quidell meeting held in a hotel down in South of England near Portsmouth.
Yep. Same boat and hoping and waiting for some kind of payout but it won’t cover my losses. Terry should be prosecuted in my view but it won’t happen. Much more wary of AIM stocks as a result mind you so useful lesson learnt.
Lets just hope for better news next year.
good luck to all
Yes Sir, I have been in since2014, not as long as yourself.
I had shares back around 2013 in Quindell when a Robert Terry was running it. I lost a lot when the scandals re mis-management of the co went public. There was the possibility of a crowd funded case against Quindell up to 2016 I think, but in the end it was dropped as deemed too risky. Quindell became Watchstone around 2014 so, if latter win their case, then us ex-shareholders of Quindell shd also get compo. Anyone here in same boat as me ?

I would speculate that it appears to be some random method of dipping your hands into the till and take until you are satisfied.
Anyone know how the bonus payments are formulated ???
It is hard to imagine as a normal person, that taking that kind of wage from a company that he is running into the ground would sit well with most people.
I may be proved wrong, but I have seen to many businesses strung along just to pay the wages of the directors to feel that confident about human nature. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
"£1.164m was paid to the CEO. £489k was salary and £675k was bonus."
Thank God. I was really worried about how he would afford his electric and gas bill this Winter. Let's face it, he's earned that bonus.
Just received the annual report. A loss of £3.7m made up pretty much by legal costs (£1.1m) and wages & pensions (£1.9m) of which £1.164m was paid to the CEO. £489k was salary and £675k was bonus. So he got paid more than the lawyers.
The claims are going to run on into 2023 and 2024 so he’s not going to do too badly. Mind you he does have to deliver some value back to shareholders.

I kinda wondered how the litigation is proceeding - attached link may be useful - For the record I've copied and pasted what seem to be the main key dates. I sorta get the feeling that it wont be resolved in my lifetime :P
"It expects its trial regarding its claim against professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP to begin in January 2023. Watchstone is asking for GBP63.0 million in damage compensation plus interests and costs.
Meanwhile, the trial regarding its claim against its former auditor KPMG International Ltd is not expected to begin before 2024. Its Canadian subsidiary's claim against Aviva Canada is expected to go on trial in January 2024."

There must be some well paid jobs at WTG, for a company doing flip all.
That might explain the lack of activity over such a long period. Still, I understand the problem....
Would I want to end my gravy train?
Watchstone Group plc
Preliminary results for the year ended 31 December 2021
· Group cash at 31 December 2021 of £13.0m (31 December 2020: £16.7m)
So with a cash burn of over £3m a year lets hope the board can get things sorted out,
with regards litigation, before the end of 2025 !!!!
Otherwise the sp will continue to slide......

I agree with you Sir, I see we are on the move this morning.
If anyone doubts the level of wrongdoing in both major claims, they need only read the full documentation and transcripts.
It's a long wait....but the final outcome will be positive. In my simple Scouse opinion.
Thank you for responding, I hope so too, I believe in the end we will be rewarded.
After todsys rns you'd hope so!
Can we expect a price rise tomorrow ?

Calm down mr.c...... think of your blood pressure !!
They are just trying it on.... they all do it.... it's just business...
......no serious holder is gonna sell for less than a pound :-)
Relax
I'm sick of these city types thinking everything they do can be done to turn a mega profit cus its their birth right !
34p to 38p. What on earth makes them think people will vote for that? That’s the problem with a low ball offer. If you subsequently offer a more realistic price you look like you were taking the p*** the first time which would not be a good look. All you can do is appear to be making a reasonably improved offer relatively speaking. Watchstone shareholders should be given a lot more credit.
Increased offer ..... So how come all the spiel from their last offer saying it was fair.
Still way way way undervalues us and i definitely WONT be accepting this "increased" offer as it's still a joke.

""I think we would be better off hanging onto our shares if the court cases coming up go in our favour we might be better off.""
No **** Sherlock !!!
& the award for 'understatement of the year'... goes to.... ;-)
The first sentence (below), should have read as follows..
That's true.. I`m wondering how far away they are from `dunning` the shareholders out of there money..
I see the first deadline date went by on the 6th of Aug...
Basically, the investors, I think, would like to have the real value of this business, and given some compensation for the follies which have led to the present state of play.. So a fair settlement reflecting the legal wrangles, which are outstanding at present lead me to support the company`s position on the claims that they seek proper settlement for..
Thats true.. I`m wondering how far away they are from dunning the shareholders out of there money..
I see the first deadline date went by on the 6th of Aug.
Anyone know when the second deadline will come along??
and to think that they were shorting wtg recently... a cunning stunt??
Absolutely, the 30% rule is used so often in the markets to try and acquire companies for a cheeky low price, thats how money flows from the innocent to the sharks.
i think we would be better off hanging onto our shares if the court cases coming up go in our favour we might be better off.
