KK - we may be talking at cross purposes. What I was saying that I doubted Russian revenues could have actually increased because the mechanisms for moving oil to the Chinese and Indians were still very basic...
KK - "The sad fact is that Russian oil revenues are ahead of pre war numbers regardless of sanctions." Not entirely sure how accurate this is. It is not so easy shipping oil to the far East for them and I cant believe all of a sudden that India have plugged the gap. Although India are being super sycophantic about how they dont see anything wrong with the war -- cus they're luvin the cheap gas and oil !
tucson - You could be right like I said in my previous post even 50% uplift on the current SP would seem like a steal to a buyer who wanted little hassle from shareholders, but this would leave me 50% down on my average. We need Fortitude on here to tell us all how GC will pull a rabbit out of the hat here -- LoL ! But I have to dissapoint @TheBasher in that he will be waiting a long time for any AIM CEO to show any PI ANY respect !
RE: Russia’s oil revenues soar …..Bloomberg15 May 2022 14:50
Putin may be getting richer but the economic sanctions are making life very uncomfortable for most Russians which was the mid-long term aim. You are right he did think this through, but he misjudged a) How good the Ukranian forces are and b) The sheer strength of international outcry eg Neutral Sweden and Finland joining NATO. Roubles may be riding high at the moment but would you want to hold them !!!
This is a dangerous position to be in. Dirt cheap MCAP so even if a takeover bidis SP +40% it still a steal for the first Chinese comodity company that comes along. Have a look at what happened to BCN. OK in the case of BCN the SP was deliberately spiked with a placing, and the BoD seemed to be desperate to do the deal no matter what !! Hope the BoD here are better negotiators !
oneday - " I don't hold any as I believe it makes sub prime backed CDS look like gold " -- love this analogy, I dont hold crypto either as I'm not in the habit of buying fresh air. I suppose holding CASPis better than holding crypto !
Well pointed out ! I havent been in this share for years now but every couple of months look at this board and am amazed people are even here discussing anything still so those 2 pints of cider would have cost £10,000 then !
Have a look at KDNC if you want to see a board with constant analyses and estimates of SP explosions when certain milestones are reached and still that SP languishes even after they secure a supposedly huge Iron ore resource. Same here all the number crunching in the world wont help in a share thats infected with 'nearly there syndrome'. I have been here a long time but not a big holder and I would like to know why an oil company producing oil at the highest prices the world has ever seen is stuck in a ditch ! The DIVI is a smokescreen unless it is truly huge - which I doubt///
Trouble is price being held down is very bad if its taken out by a larger miner. This is exactly what happened in BCN, the share price was already languishing due to lack of activity, so Secker dealt the hammer blow with a placing. Then with the share price really low a buyout was done at SP plus roughly 35% premium. But if the SP is already kept low, its not really a premium is it ! So if this gets snapped up for 16p are we going to be happy ? I'd say mostly not. Especially if , like BCN, the board pushed through what they new was a bargain basement deal with no negotiation with the buyer. So lets hope this doesnt happen here, but lets also remember Secker is associated with Zinnwald !
daytrade - Yep thats my thoughts too. I had averaged down to just under 3p but thats enough for me because we still have no idea where this is going. AIM is chock full of shares with l'ong slow death' stock price graphs...
TJ_MAC - Congratulations on possibly the best and most sensible post I have seen here for a very long time. I know its was not your intent, but it has put the spreadsheet accountants posts into perspective. But painful as it is this is still risk on even after the months/years of the usual crew saying 'anytime now Amapa 20% and boom' to paraphrase. If there was more commonsense written here there would be the stupid squabbles that there are ! I have been here for many years as an original REM invester and had managed to average down and sell a chunk when we got to 30p but this is an impossible share to get your head around and the constant Rose tinted posts havent helped !
Correct, once you have an investment ISA account all of the money or assets remain in the ISA no matter what you do but the moment you draw the cash out its out of the ISA forever. I have been trading within my ISA for years...
