Not particularly surprised at the extent of the fall here. Markets are jittery and posting reduced revenue gets punished severely.
Reading the Chairman statement my interpretation is it is somewhat less upbeat than previous statements.... increased competition; incentives offered for customer acquisition are unbelievable - get $1,000 deposited by operator in new account account, replace losing bets on the first week of account being opened unto $1,000. As Chairmen says Webis aren't in this league. I also wouldn't dismiss the power of tribes they are extremely powerful.
California is make or break....as someone previously posted the for sale sign is in the front garden now.
BTW... does anyone have insight into how they make money in NY? They didn't get an operators license in the recent awards...thankfully in my opinion as they couldn't compete with the spend DKNG / Fanduel are shelling out.
... been looking at WEBIS for quite awhile now, took the drop as an opportunity to get in. A small holding (no doubt) compared to some of you guys, but think the opening up of America as quite exciting. The loss not helped by the So. Cal racetrack being closed for so long.
im 50% up in 3 different trding accounts and isas so im not averaging down.but i would certainly be buying atm.just a temporay dip well overdone imo
I must read the fine print to check if they own any licences in Ukraine (pun intended)...... Assuming they don't, this looks a darn good buy price
So they take three trades at or below 2.70 and then close buying.
32 percent down is well over done. Appreciate that there are war fears but really 32?
Someone just sold at 2.63!! Must need the money desperately.
Please stay at this level till pay day. More confident than ever of a multi bag over next 6 months once the Yanks start getting excited from summer on. Build up your stocks now !
Anyone worried about financing options, doesn’t understand who owns the business…. The exit plan remains the same. California regulate, interest from major player, spike or sale. Great opportunity to load up this morning .
Didn't expect to see a 20% drop as currently showing on HL.
I never understand the mega fear of placings, unless they need to do it keep the light on.
If we need to dilute by 10% to make ourselves able to earn potentially 50% more or be 50% more attractive to a buyer…. Why is that a problem?
Bought too early - market doesn't like it and re-read the RNS and this now stands out -
On that note, the Executive are currently preparing detailed software development, payment processing, marketing and regulatory expansion plans for our core website. These four factors underpin a successful USA licensed online wagering site. There is, however, an obvious cost to all four of these items, some of which can be financed through existing cash flows. This investment is critical to the future growth of the business and indeed our market valuation. The Board will keep shareholders fully informed of any decisions to invest in the current wagering platform.
- Some of which is the key point - looks like we're going to need cash which could mean a placing
A bit disappointed with the figures - was hoping to stay in profit. It's all on the licences and whether we can attract the right suitor. Just added another 150,000 so now holding 2192903 shares.
It will either be the best decision of my life or I'll be back looking for a job in 2023. Here's hoping
I believe this is a steal at these prices for where we can potentially be in 6 months time or less.
Topped up with another £2k - drop not warranted imv.
Pre opening looks positive ( as does the Web outlook).
Very very unlikely the Indians will win the vote. The bills they’re putting forward are designed to ensure that they have the sole gambling rights and retain the bulk of the income.
California needs the tax revenue. In fact, it’s desperate.
It’s about to open up and WEB (or whoever buys them) will be the big beneficiaries.
A loss, maybe salaries are too high but never mind.
I reckon a fall to below 3p is likely today (hoping not so) and future hopes are dependent on a takeover given there always seems a reason for a lower bottom line here . 5p target for me. Still, far less risky a share to hold than a few others......
In a nutshell things have been fairly challenging given factors we are all aware off but things are looking up. Got our licences and California has a battle with the Indians to come which if successful should see us quids in. I'm happy enough with that. Hopefully the market is aswell.
Happy enough. Positive outlook.
Yeah seen that too. Seems the 'For Sale' sign is truly up ahead of big things with our territories in 2022. Results ok considering conditions.
A mixed update - the most interesting statement maybe? ''Having sought external advice from venture capital firms and indeed specialty gaming advisers, we continue to consider ourselves to be undervalued on our metrics and, indeed, our potential growth opportunity in the USA. We remain open to discussion with potential partners and will keep shareholders fully informed of developments in this matter.''
Spot on Brighty.
For newbies here’s a reminder of what Webis said recently in an RNS:
"As a result, the company has had no shortage of informal offers from other interested parties in the space, specifically in the areas of software deals, strategic alliances and, at the operating company level only, mergers and even acquisition".
Says it all and remember California is the big licence opportunity for Webis and this could really multi bag significantly in the run up to sports betting being given the OK in California. There are at least four sports-betting related ballot measures in California slated for this year already. A x 10 of the current share price is very possible here. A big operator will be keen to gain a licence in California and a takeover of WEB could be on the cards in due course. Exciting times for all Webis investors. Right sector. Right time. Good luck, Brighty
Yeah I think they will good, growth happened in a difficult time for all and can only see positive from our last reporting date. Strip out grant unless we get more, 0.5-1M would be fantastic. Happy to be surprised to upper end though!
