stick or twist....no trades
No one buying ( or selling ) everyone just waiting.
It’s the lull before the impending storm I think. Did you notice no postings since my last one and yesterday only 1 tiny sell the only trade of the day. Everyone is just sitting on their hands and backing their optimism
Surprised this didn't go up this week. Silence is golden/deafening.
Yes, it was a painful drop first thing this morning I was down over £30k sadly at one stage but it’s picked back up slightly again. This stock could bounce about quite a lot in the near term, but I think we will get some positive news soon. This share is still very cheap, and a lot of firms will want to get in on the action. Having the licences we have, and the control of the racetrack in California makes us a very attractive proposition whatever the outcome in November. Based on previous comments from the board, we have clearly had quite a lot of interest in the past from would be suitors, we only need one to make the right bid and we will all be handsomely remunerated.
One final thought, there is so few shares changing hands on a daily basis, almost everyone is sitting on the fence to wait and see what happens.
Good luck to us all!!!!
Yes a bit disappointing to see my investment drop by £14k ish this morning but I think I will regain this and more over the next couple of months. Been here for a while and happy to keep holding until we receive a great offer.
you were saying?? :)
Bring it on!
I agree completely. Buy on rumour, sell on news. This will rise all the way to November. Takeover rumours galore! Bring it on.
The fact is, that there is a very very strong chance that the two gambling bills will be passed. What this means to Webis I’m not sure but it can’t be bad.
Webis has take over target written all over it. We got one of the few race track licenses in the state…Board have said previously they had informal talks with larger companies. Well after today’s news they can buy us on the relative cheap, or wait for the law to be passed and have to pay a serious premium. Do honestly feel regardless, this will rise substantially between now and November. We already know it doesn’t take many buys to move this, with hardly any shares in circulation and the majority held by the board.
it would be nice to get a summary from the board. How will the vote effect us? The vote is in November. Which draft suits us best. It would be nice to get an offer from draft king.
May still be prime take over target for the licenses I think. 3.2 finish today. More of the same tomorrow please !!
All very true - but will the tribes partner with Webis if there is a land grab and the big boys throw huge amounts of money at them. you need a tribal partner under the California Solutions to Homelessness and Mental Health Act - proposals (love that name)/
All a little confusing - would be good to get some clarify from the company.
Online sports betting would start August 2023 under the commercial measure.
DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, Barstool and WynnBET have spent over $100 million on efforts to promote signature gathering.
With a population roughly twice the size of New York — which quickly became the top sports betting state in the country — California is considered the crown jewel of the market.
Q) - Will any of the proposals be beneficial to Webis & if they are will they be voted through.
it appears that the second act on the ballot (California Solutions to Homelessness and Mental Health Act) requires the major operators to partner with a tribe - unsure if this includes racetrack operators - i don't think so. (we would clearly be allowed to offer sportsbetting on-track - not sure if online). This model has worked in other states with casnio operators - they can have several "skins" under their license - with different revenue share models. Tribes can also launch their own sites - i am conflicted as to if or how beneficial this option will be to WEB.
the first bill only allows sportsbetting on tribal casino land or at the racetrack (clearly of benefit to Webis)
I think this will hinge on the method of market entry - interesting article here as well.

2.9 paid but still very very cheap if all the stars align!!
All coming together nicely. Get in now.
California’s November election will officially feature just two ballot propositions on sports betting — online and/or in-person betting.

All buys building up nicely!
we all know how this flies on one sniff of news so few shares in free float.
Or IMHO even !!!!
No brainer to bag from here imoa.
Yes, certainly some very exciting times ahead for Webis investors coming soon, especially when you factor in our Chairman's statement in the Strategic opportunities and Outlook section of the Webis Annual Report. It doesn't get much better than this if you are a long term share holder:
"USA regulated gaming is seen as the hottest subject at present in global gaming, and something of a gold rush both in the USA and, indeed, internationally. Non-USA and certain European companies are experiencing severe regulatory issues, as well as margin problems, and appear almost desperate to be a part of the developments in the USA. As a result, it should come as no surprise that WatchandWager continues to be courted by large corporations, and indeed smaller operations with a view to software deals, strategic alliances, mergers or even outright acquisition opportunities. Principally led by our Managing Director, the Board assesses each opportunity on a case-by-case basis. It should be noted in the majority of instances, the Board takes the view that "they need us more than we need them" and we continue to protect our USA licensed presence as a core asset. We are very aware of the increased consolidation in the industry and the economies of scale of strategic partnerships and will keep shareholders aware of any meaningful strategic developments with the Group, most likely in the USA, but possibly with international partnerships" - Denham Eke, Chairman
Webis could multi bag significantly in the run up to sports betting being given the OK in California or if an outright takeover of Webis was announced.
Good luck, Brighty
