Madpunter just for you.
If you don't believe me check with NASA/NOAA.
Mad made climate change is the problem here .
The reason is until we started pouring CO2 and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, the climate was able to balance itself.
Coal and Oil are carbon sinks, they were never meant to be extracted and burnt releasing it back into the atmosphere.
It was man that did that. Not nature.
Also the oceans and trees are carbon sinks.
But these have been chopped down and polluted.
Had this never happened we would be OK.
The reason CO2 is dangerous as the man made part is thus.
CO2 stays in the atmosphere for between 300 and a 1000 years depending where about it is in the atmosphere, so this is a cumulative effect.
That is why when we have gone from around 280 parts per million to just over 400 parts per million ( rough guess ) it is urgent we not only reduce our carbon emissions but get to net zero and then start reversing them.
This is what the man made is about and why it's so urgent.
Time really is running out.
We don't yet understand when natures carbon sinks get saturated, but when that happens it's game over.
As no CO2 will be absorbed and all life emits CO2 and that will be the end pretty fast.

Copied from the link that you stated was rubbish. This paper is by Mann and figure 2 shows the 15 degree baseline.
See the previous links.
Seriously how can anyone defend that gas, coal fired power stations aren’t more polluting than solar wind etc.
Just because china refuses to make an effort in de-carbonising their use dirsntbmean the west are wrong. Which country is producing the most EVs these days?
There are valid arguments on both sides, currently, but carrying on with fossil fuels is a cost argument, more than anything else, and as renewable gains more traction the fossil brigade will lose one of their big justifications for oil, gas etc
The UK needs to make renewable usage more appealing like other western countries are doing, including infrastructure.
Paying billions a year to wind farms because they can’t use the electric generated is farcical and expensive
Quady, using figures from 1800 takes into consideration the last 50 years of the little ice age that is commonly accepted to have been from very early 1300's to mid 1800's. That's over 20% of the last 223 years at an accepted unusual low temp. Why is this period always quietly included in the calculations ? Doesn't it skew the results ?
Madpunter that's not true, post a link that says that.
The past is very relevant. If CO2 levels were multiples of today's levels during ice ages, then there's no correlation between CO2 and temperature. It means that MMGW has a negligible effect on climate change.
Mann and the IPCC used 15 as the baseline until the drop to 14.62. Then they manipulated the figures to state 14, so that the 14.62 shows a rise instead of a fall. Changing the data to match the narrative is not science!
Slug being even more stupid.
Man made climate change has nothing to do with the earth 4.6 billion years ago.
Because very few humans on it at that time.
Zero to be accurate.
The fool still doesn't understand the difference between climate change and man made climate change.
Slug, I feel like others will say I'm bullying you now so maybe I'll stop.. but a final reminder as you seem a bit forgetful:
You said that the ESA has forecast temperatures of 48C in Sicily. In an effort to show this was scaremongering and part of a conspiracy, you found a website showing it has been 35 in Sicily. You came here and posted that link and appeared triumphant. I realised what you done, and that you'd probably been mislead by others who can't think in your GB News telegram group. I looked on the same website for a hotter bit of Sicily, and hey presto, 46.5C. Well within tolerance of what was forecast. You were embarrassed and tried to change the subject. And you've never admitted you were wrong and the ESA were right.
I might save this for every other time you slither back on here to get banned. It's too much fun 😊
Thank you Madpunter that didn't take me long to find out the truth.
Forget the second link, it's rubbish.
Climate deniers always try to go back thousands or millions of years ago to prove a point. Often forgetting we are talking about mad made climate change, as a rule of thumb. Start from 1800 to present day for accurate results.
Your first link is interesting but wrong.
I will post why.
The average temperature in 2012 was about 58.3 degrees Fahrenheit (14.6 Celsius), which is 1.0 F (0.6 C) warmer than the mid-20th century baseline. The average global temperature has risen about 1.4 degrees F (0.8 C) since 1880, according to the new analysis.15 Jan 2013
Some people reported 14 degrees and rounded down and some reported 15 degrees and rounded up.
Both are wrong. It's 14.6 degrees.
Hope that clears things up.
Once again thank you for the links.
Quady, that's the problem IMHO both sides are pushing the honest argument envelope.
When a protagonist resorts to name calling, gaslighting, etc it's normally because they aren't happy with the strength of their own side of the discussion either.
Jezzoo asking for proof is necessary so it can be examined and held up to scrutiny, otherwise anyone can make up anything.
It applies to both sides of the argument.
In general if you don't agree you are excluded from the inclusivity and cancelled.
They all come across as level headed people with a metered temper and a condescending manner.
If you contradict them however, they turn into the human verson of a Rottweiler who has just sat on a hornets nest.

Plenty of links to where 15 was used in the past in this article.

The worlds gone woke mad
they’ve even come for freshers week!!
Other universities are attempting to move away from freshers’ stereotypes such as back-to-back drunken nights out and daring initiation ceremonies, to instead offer far more sensible activities.
At the University of Stirling’s first welcome week in September, undergraduates are being invited to take part in pizza and board game nights, rock and roll bingo, gardening sessions and a sober ceilidh.
The student union has also organised a trip to Ikea, a Sunday roast, a vintage fair and a plant sale, while students will get the chance to meet alpacas on campus.
A spokesman said: “Our activity is being presented as welcome week as we feel the title more adequately reflects what students are looking for during their first few days and weeks. Inclusivity is a large part of what we hope to provide with activities aimed at getting students together in relaxed social settings.”
Meanwhile, Edinburgh Napier University is offering puppy yoga and painting picnics
I have noticed the climate change believing side of this argument constantly ask for proof of this and proof of that and seem to want to use their parameters only.
Surely to have a balanced argument, simply dismissing the other side's comments and expecting that to be proof is a flawed model isn't it ? I watched Earth on BBC 2 last night and Packhorse said it was the plants fault in the Devonian period because they stored too much CO2 and caused a near death spiral ice age whereas the earth would have been one big dead snowball. Lucky for us America was formed and there oil based society saved the world. Something like that anyway.
Jezzoo.
I see you are admitting to your character traits Slug.
Let me help you, you left off vile and disgusting.
Slug of course I didn't say that.
Why would anyone say that BHP would want 70% of Solgolds 85% share of ENSA.
Like madhatter post the link.
I think I know what you are on about, but going to let you make an even bigger fool of yourself as I didn't say what you said I said.
Carry on post the date and time I said that and we can look at it.
Be quick as you will be gone soon.
More lies from Slug.
Just show me a post where I said BHP only wanted 59.5% of ENSA.
I have never said that.
As I have often said the most unintelligent poster on here, however kat2008 is challenging him for the title recently.
Does Quady being wrong about something make your temperature gaffs less embarrassing? Because I don't care about what Quady has said. I want to taste the sweet victory of seeing you admit the depth of your stupidity
He won't be able to post a link,a quady. It really is this easy to out them. If it were a sport, they'd have to introduce some new rules to make it more challenging, because we're in 'fish in a barrel' territory here.
Slug says he doesn't hate women, but then goes to prove he does,
Madpunter please just post the link and let me investigate.
Don't change the subject.
Everyone knew smoking was harmful, so why didn't governments just ban it? Too much revenue from tax, which is also the reason why alcohol doesn't get banned. The elite want to still smoke their cigars and drink fabulous wines and the occasional beer, cider or spirits. It's all about controlling the masses. Everything that's projected today by governments equates to the opposite. Freedom of movement = 15 minute cities and no movement; freedom of speech = cancel culture if just one word offends; and equality = inequality.
You can't do it, can you? You can't admit you were wrong about something as simply as the temperature is Sicily. It's baffling how hard you're digging in over something that everyone here can just google. Or is Google part of the illuminati too? 🤣
