Cheers Add, Warren, and now Willem, both mentioned the Chinese as the likely buyer of solg. With interest rates about to turn, that might well stimulate a bid.
The West will not be happy if China end up owning such a prize. Solg is a big part of Willem's portfolio and I find it interesting that he mentioned the company while discussing M&A. "Once they understand that this is one of the largest copper deposits worldwide they will buy it." That implies that Chinese are carrying out their DD to understand what solg represents. Finally, patience was mentioned as a must.
Yep thanks Eloro
Interesting he also made the point about year end selling.
Be interesting to see if he’s right about a post Christmas bounce.
You are quite right Stackhigh.
Slug is the most unintelligent poster on all subjects.
I really fail to understand how his brain allows him to put one foot in front of the other.
He understands nothing about Science.
Nothing about economics.
Nothing about society.
He is Rac.ist in his views, not surprising as unintelligent people are.
He talks about women in a derogatory way, only men who hate women do that
And to cap it all talks about woke and a far right uprising.
He shows no kindness to anyone.
Not only the most unintelligent poster on here but also thoroughly unpleasant.
Thanks eloro. I had already seen it.
it was heartening to hear the comments on solg.
but unlike adikt, I'm not getting to get hysterical.
those heartening words were immediately followed by several negatives.
but as usual adikt just happens to overlook anything that doesn't hold with his narrative.
we need to balance the news. not just cherry pick.
"the U.K. was under her stewardship the third largest GDP in the world"
Not going to clutter up this board schooling slug any further - he is resistant to facts. Thatcher was PM throughout the 1980s. Labour came to power in '97 and remained there until 2010. Have a look at the UK's comparative GDP (slugs choice of metric, not mine) in that time and work out who is right: me or slug?
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_largest_historical_GDP
Not made me, meant to say man made.
Oh dear Slug doesn't even know what a fact is.
It is an observation that is made directly or indirectly.
It is a fact that Slug doesn't understand science.
As he doesn't even understand the difference between made me climate change and climate change and the cumulative effect of man made climate change.
Not only the most unintelligent poster on here but also the most delusional.
'worth billions and billions'
'the Chinese don't care which country it's in...they will buy Solgold'.
Of course, he's talking his own book, but nevertheless this is a very interesting overview of the market, an explanation of why we are where we are and what he sees coming down the track.
Thanks for posting, Eloro.
It doesn’t need repeating. It’s a fact
I’ve got a very good grasp of English and science, can think critically and a have a vicious right hook. These are all things that would put a skinny armed militant woke like you in your place in real life.
1984. Read with interest your summerising on the state of the uk.
"The dopes who think we’re “progressing” will still think they’re right when the country is in its knees and the wealth creators have long since left"
You could of been talking about solg.
Adikt and Co telling us things are progressing, but to dumb to realise the smart money investers are long gone, and the company is on its knees
Interesting that you don't repeat your 'GDP under Thatcher' comment.
You've derailed enough weekends on this board with your poor grasp of English and science. We'll leave it with me schooling you on recent history, too 👍
That's a good idea jerry.
Let's do whatever we can to upset bhp.
Problem is, when they retaliate, as they have, we come of worse. Mupoet
Interesting comments on solg:
https://youtu.be/gYSRF6Tw3Tc?si=78Xg4nUM-3UyRYZy
If BHP ever suggest that they have a good working relationship with Solgold, we the shareholders, are screwed. They will never be on our side as our interests are diametrically opposed. Anything we do, in the interests of the company, they will oppose.
I might be inclined to do whatever upsets them the most......
*taxes are rising hard
Although it could equally have been seen as a valid Freudian slip
*on its knees
Apple auto incorrect is another prime example of how bad standards are these days
Of course it’s a myth. There’s an annual increase in co2 emissions equal to the entire output of the U.K. yet nobody else is impoverishing themselves to do anything about it. It’s about money and control, only a moron can’t see that (but this board seems to attract many of those)
Standard of living is dropping hard in the U.K. races are rising hard, immigration is rampant, benefits culture is at epidemic levels
It isn’t hard to see why we’re all poorer and why those coming through now have no incentive to try in life.
The dopes who think we’re “progressing” will still think they’re right when the country is in its knees and the wealth creators have long since left
It's ok to laugh now and then Eloro , all that worry and angst , you' a long time dead.
I bring nothing here , I have always said that , I have never pretended to claim anything different.
What's the point of me joining the endless chatter going around in circles?
Anyway , sorry I ruffled your feathers , chin up eh.
Interesting point on Newmont... I guess we'll see soon whether they have been bluffing with their apparent priotises and nonchalance re SOLG. If they vote against the SOLG BoD's then I'd find that an encourageing sign as at least they are showing the same frustrated issues as BHP...
If they abstain... Scott and co should be fine.
There's a nice simple Wikipedia entry about historical gdp comparison, so it isn't difficult to see that slug is as misguided and blinkered as ever. Compare our position in the 80s/early 90s to late 90s/early 00s. Comparing international economies isn't as simple as he is, obviously, but he chose the metric for comparison...
He never lets the facts get in the way of a gb news talking points. Next he'll be telling us man-made climate change is a myth! Oh no, wait... That's a weekly drone from him.
What % votes are in the same corner?
Nik, Cornerstone, Tenstar , Bell Potter, DGR, Maxitt, slow 'n stupid Bob, Jiangxi ( still no idea how you spell it ), sleepy Scott Caldwell... who else is likely to vote for and who else from the major players is likely to vote against?
Also, if we're 'way down' Newmonts list of priorities, aren't they likely to keep the status quo in order to have a chance of getting a small & fairly insignificant to them bit of cash back in if these muppets can ever monitse our assets? C
She was. The proof was in the pudding, the U.K. was under her stewardship the third largest GDP in the world.
None of the socialist idiots since could ever dream of achieving that
You think they're "brazenly wandering into the AGM..."
Deary me Fort, open your eyes. They're doing anything but.
At least you've nailed your colours to the mast. There will be no claiming you told us what is about to happen, when it has happened. We've got the receipts and there will be no bluffing.
1984 - it's no different to those that believed Maggie was a good prime minister. We can all believe what we like but it doesn't make it right.
Well, don't get excited Bozi, as Maxit clearly don't have the moves like Jagger otherwise they would have delivered something ahead of the AGM for shareholders to vote on. Instead they seem to have brazenly wandered into the AGM after spending $70m and delivering zero combioned with a share price that represents roughly $500m down the tube since they announced the merger. Combine that with the $70m burned and you have a whopping $570m equity erosion due to Scott and Maxit's inability to give shareholders anything whatsoever to get excited about.
$570m wiped under these tools. That's like 10 Osisko's or 10 Franco's.
And you think these guys moves and counter moves??
They look like they are running around ina 3 legged sack race.
But there are literally only 1 or 2 people on the planet who believe solgold can build it themselves
None of the suitors do and they’re all waiting for the lowest point to start the bidding. If more than one suitor wants it we will be fine
