A good chunk in that was destined for a couple of student rentals, however when everything fell on its arse last March I bought in... definitely not timing the bottom but it looked like a decent decision and I still believe is. Usually_right, I definitely need to introduce another holding for sure but selling when a stock has had a good run is always tricky as you just think what's changed and why won't it go up a bit more. Then, once you've had the higher price, its hard to sell at a lower price then as in the last few weeks its death by a thousand drops .... i have every faith though and know its just a terrible time of year for volume slight bad news can get over blown and result in volatility. Anyway, results should give us a lift from here as I have every faith they will be positive. Thanks for chipping in all. ATB, C.
Hey culco, nice link. Do you regularly follow their buy / sell recommendeds and have had much joy following them as they seem to stack up?
I've seen 180k profit, which took 12 months to build, all buy wiped out in the last 7 or 8 weeks amd need to take profits from time to time, so would be interested to know if their signals panned out. Great day...finally!
im Jim Cramer style, I'm calling the bottom for Nex tomorrow am. Sharp drop first thing followed by a gradual recovery. The market is having a tantrum and needs to get over itself. Jan, 40-50k infections per day, 4k hospital admissions, similar levels of infection around at the minute, 750 hospital admissions and the market needs to get the fact that the road will be bumpy. I'm expecting 65-70% of pre pandemic passenger numbers to be reported on the 29th, which at these prices makes nex a steal especially as they have already stated that they are trading ahead of expectations. All the best Nex generation. C
Professor Tim Spector is on record saying CV cases are plateauing. Thank €uck for that. Hopefully results will get nex rerated on the 29th and we can stop getting treated like the bl@@dy airline ( who genuinely are screwed ) and get back towards £3. I've got well over 100k of these bad boys and I've had to tell the missus the holiday home has been downgraded to a tent... :( let's hope things pickup. C
Hey Jtan, loved your contribution to the board over the last few weeks as we haven't had a technical point of view on here before, so keep the interpretations coming as it all helps. Like Culco, I got into Nex in the 1.17 to 1.50 range, so although this drop has been painful, it's all just virtual profits for now so faily relaxed for now.
My take on the price action since late May is that fundamentally, nothing has changed and we should see passenger levels at roughly 70% of pre pandemic in the next set of results. The exec have already stated they have renegotiated contracts to pay out regardless of whether the vehicle is full or otherwise, combined with acquisitions and contact wins, should give the sp a boost at the end of the month.
I think FGP report on the 8th so there should be some read through to NEX from that which will be interesting.
In summary, give it till this time next month and I think we will be back above £3 again as things are still on track IMHO.
RE: 1 step forward and 2 steps back12 Jun 2021 21:28
You would hope at these prices its all baked in. We were in the 230's this time last year and we were miles away from a solution back then so to be only 20 odd percent higher given all that's been achieved seems as low as it should be right now. Still, WTF do I know. C
RE: down compared to rest of sector09 Jun 2021 18:29
massively oversold. I tried to buy 14k at the end of the day but HSBC only managed to get me 82, thanks for nothing HSBC. Avoid their platform, its pathetic. I'll be putting an order in first thing as this should be support at these levels. No reason for this to be down when the rest of the travel sector had a half decent day. Money to be made before weekend here folks! C
Valiefinder, Bozi re: 11.29 post. :-).... Point taken and your probably not wrong, but let's face it, it's a bit Alan Partridge to talk shares with you mates or down the pub, and if you mention anything to the wife she'll just spent it! So at least we are just carping off to fellow investors who have common interests. All the best guys, off for a picnic with the kids. C
@David7015, to your point, I've just bought 100k via HSBC so not sure how that shows up, wouldn't be surprised if its on paper via carrier pigeon as their platform is that bad. I'm happy to buy back in after trimming a few days ago as hopefully this is near the bottom of this dip. Love all the contributions on this board, RK, Bnc, Pinot.... Great to be the right side of 30 again and thanks to all those who have far more experience than I. I definitely DMOR but enjoy the banter and contributions here. All the best and don't forget the suncream! C
hey Culco, rotation into actual value like this must be coming, inflation will erode the of potential high growth stocks along with higher taxes for when they actually do start making money will push money back to value like this.
My thesis only and I'm no professional investor to say the least :-) .... but I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the high growth US tech. take a dip based on the 'agreed' g7 global tax reforms. For some reason I have never got my head round, this share seems to perform badly when US high growth tech does too, so maybe back to sub 290... but thats just my obs only as someone who has watched this share ( my wife would say obsessively ) since I bought in heavily lasy year.
If it dips back, im sure it will only be temporary, if not and marches on to 296 and above as this share can, cest la vie ... at least the PF has a good day and the trading budget intact.
Don't think anyone disagrees with you HarChris, this is a great share and LT, will get back on its feet and start paying divis again and get back to approaching £4, but it may take a while.
I have a chunk in Nex that i wont trade as I'm a believer, but my point is, it has a very defined range and has great support circa 2.85. I bought Friday at 2.86, bottled it due to concerns about what might happen in the US this afternoon and sold this am for 2.93, £620 profit. If you have some spare cash, look at the charts and trade the range. There is risk associated with this approach for sure, but if I end up holding an extra few k shares for a couple of months till it gets back on its feet, no major loss as it eventually will.
Let's hope for a good week all..finally got a week off and out for lunch with the wife and kids now!
anyone got any bright ideas why nex are taking a kicking today along with gog? even the airlines are doing ok ('ish) and they really are up a creek without a paddle? I've just loaded up at 286.8, 286.2 and now 285.2 ready for the bus back to 3.15 ( I hope :-) I', still massively invested here for the LT and will only ever trade 15% of my holding, but am struggling to see how we will get above 3.15 - 3.20 again without some good CV or trading news.
