.. and it's just occurred to me the best part about selling out for nearly £750k at a decent profit, even though it was less than I'd hope'd for Nal is that I never need to converse with you again, let alone read the rubbish you write. It may seem alien that to you that some have significant sums of spare capital to invest, but I guess that's just as you're as think as a Gurkhas foreskins and the people you hang around with likely just as stupid and skint. Take one piece of advise, channel as much energy into being positive and bettering yourself as you do at being bitter at others and you never know, you too may one day be able to afford 2.6 millions shares. ttfn, X. Whilst I wish all here the very best with their quest to get full value for their Solg holding, I'd highlight the opportunity cost of missing out on gains elsewhere. Personally I sold out my 2.6 mil shares early jan and pivoted into a gold fund, the gdx and the copx which has performed well. We're in the midst of a big commodities bull run which will last for sure but I think there's big gains to be made elsewhere so I took my money and ran from this share. We've all been stitched up here whilst insiders have done very well and for me, it wasn't worth wasting any more time and effort with this share. Best of luck though, I hope this come off for you all. C

It's a tough one here if your access to capital is limited, wait and hope for a rival bid or get the hell put a make hay elsewhere. Our further investments in copx, Glencore and the Blackrock Gold Fund have done well in a bull market that's starting to attract the generalist investor.

If JCC fail to get the 75% they need, how quickly can they up that offer to say 30p to seal the 75% at the next time of asking?

75% right now seems unlikely given the polorised positions outlined so far. Worse case, another 2-3p sweetner?

Re: Fort - agree this comes from a point of fatigue from management and not wanting to upset the Chinese - but they really do need to come out with news as we've had nothing since 26th of November and absolutely nothing on Cascabel progress for even longer.

It would signal serious intent if they got some news out next week and this is what I'd like to see. C

Whilst accepting your points SM an add as they likely explain away the reason for having to 'recommend' (under duress) the 28p opening salvo, I just cannot help but think in this market that this isn't a done deal yet.

the favorable market conditions which have been a major factor in our sp revival aren't going away and every major minor M&A team knows this. For a very high quality asset, admittedly one with a complex build and high capex, 28p is too cheap and in favorable markets how often do you get a bargain? Never!

It may be my inner optimist, but I'm still 60/40 we'll get another suitor join the party.

Could well end up going for 28p but in this market I just don't see it.

To Rodney's point, I think everyone just needs to bite their tongue on slating management till it's done. Personally, 28p is disappointing given the risk / time but it's a considerable sum and releases the capital to put where it was intended originally - property. Still, patience required and let's just see what happens in the NY.

What I do know is IMHO, it looks like the beginning of the end - The Chinese have a better grasp than any other suitor on what they are attempting to buy and current metal prices further cement my opinion that this will go through or be trumped by another suitor in Q1.

Either outcome from my perspective is very positive.

i have every faith we'll end up getting whatever our assets are worth, but no harm in giving management a bit of stick on x for the derisory 'recommendation'.

Take your point on the potential of recession PS, but id counter that with copper having a supply deficit looming too regardless of any of the catalysts coming to fruition. I'll flip the argument on it's head - given where the asset is currently positioned and the Chinese inside knowledge thanks to their 'technical assistance' over the last 12 months (cheeky b'stards - as if that wasn't completely obvious), what reasons have they got to not pull the trigger on their offer.... answer is none! .... fully expect them to pull the trigger on this in the coming days and we're off!

It's been a fairly sedate day off for me other than taking the boy for some new golf bats so managed to spend a few hours pouring through the FT (one of the few places to get some proper journalism these days and well worth the £60 a month), listening to a couple of podcasts and even some 2026 forecasted trends. Once thing struck me though, given the backdrop of geopolitics, copper required for **insert whatever trend here**, currency debasement, inflation hedge.... could go on.... but I'd be incredibly surprised if the split links get a free run at Solg as there's just too much wind in our sails for there to be a single suitor.

Admittedly Ecuador is a bit of a basket case of a nation, but I think Nobby has done a decent job of calming the waters here and there's even a narrative around Ecuador being the next big thing in mining.

Yep, we're all in the dark for now but hopefully those cheeky chincs will make good on their offer and it a case of lets see who's up for the fight as I'd be surprised if there isn't a couple of other suitors out there.

So the Chinese need to pull the trigger on the 26th December on their miserly offer.

Now, does that mean they need to let the board know on the 26th and we as shareholders will know on the 29th via an RNS or do they need to inform the market before the 26th, therefore in XMAS eve trading before noon?

Personally I think you're right smikster, this is all contrived to try and flush out an auction. If an other suitor doesn't prevail then I guess the market has decided it's 28p and we all get to move on. It's a waiting game now and I don't mind the company not releasing any news to bolster the sp as if the split links walk (which I don't think they will), christ knows we'll need that news to bolster the sp so we may as well keep that particular powder dry. Have a good weekend all.

Jeez Elro, lighten up... he hasn't betrayed us yet. Long way to go and at least we have an offer. Its all just posturing. Commercial dealings are a game of cat and mouse. If at the end of all this it's 28p and done, you'll be right, but until then lots can happen. Patience my dear fellow... I know its boring but sadly that's what's required right now. C
