Ojay - thanks for the advice. I don't get how you divine that I am the "most popular negative speculator" (seems like a bit of a contradiction) but I really don't give a toss what anyone else thinks. I'll say what I want, take it or leave it - your choice.
PS - ALL speculation is unnecessary if you think about it - but it's sometimes fun to do.
B/P: "I think at the time..."
Assuming that "thinking" could actually be one of your strengths compare that to mmafr's extremely prudent statement (5 minutes before yours): "....avoid unnecessary speculation".
b/p: Whether you like it or not - you are the most popular negative speculator on this BB. So you may want to take mmafr's proposal into consideration.
I think at the time of that interview MB expected that he would be able to access Heron in short order & certainly long before the end of September. And he still can't.
Perhaps it would be appropriate to remind ourselves of the official statement from PM and avoid unnecessary speculation.
“The Ministry of Mining and the regulator MRPAM have said they would like us onstream by the end of this year, and will facilitate that and we would obviously like that too.”
“We really want Heron-1 onstream as a priority – as well as all the other exciting stuff. That’s the big target for 2023 – we really want to get that onstream, and we will announce it when we do.”

Guys, please stop rubbishing the board with all porkies.
MB is as frustrated if not more as we are. Dealing with Mongolian doesn't look easy to me.
He would love to have H1 into production this year and he will do that.
There are all sorts of regs/rules which need to be addressed.
Apparently all the herds have agreed and government needs to confirm it.
It is a matter of short time. H1 operation is comin this year.
This is a big opportunity for adding or at least hold to your shares.
Asa we get H1 operational the price will shoot up.
//Brent crude oil typically has a low pour point (-18 °C), due to its low viscosity and low proportion of heavy hydrocarbons.//
If it's a typical Mongolian winter (-20 down to -30 degrees) the oil wont flow. Once out of the ground it would have to be kept warm by supplementary heating.
There are no guarantees in place for 2024 either! MB is not concerned though. His salary still gets paid every month.
Pilsbury are you sure work can be carried out in winter.
The Heron well is already drilled. The ability to get it up and running with oil pumping out is not weather dependent which means it can be set-up during the winter months. It's a two week operation, all of the necessary equipment is available. Heron is unlikely to go into hibernation during winter months, unlike rest of drill operations that are exploring for oil. We have found the oil.
Mid September. I think we can safely say 2023 is done. We all need to hibernate and wake up in the spring to start the new round of copy and paste statements and comments!
@Jimithebrush. If Petro Matad has the special purpose status and the formalities are agreed and completed, why do you think elections next year would be an issue? TIA
For the non believers; the order for PM to produce has come from the top of the government. The herders and landowners have agreed to relocation/buyout or whatever. To me this is clear as water. PM will shortly be producing for sure. Whether that be this month or next year the outcome is the same.
Aeschylus- thanks for highlighting.
Yes MB say " all of the herders with registered pasture within the area have been spoken to by us......and they realise its going to happen ...so they've agreed to relocate and "we "( correction) the government can conclude the detials......."
During 2022, the Company continued to make progress ... but remained frustrated in its efforts by the ongoing land access dispute. However, having made good progress with central government, the Company is confident that the land issue will be resolved during 2023 ""/ Realistically this could also mean upto the end of December with the possibility of no production and another wasted year and then to top it off elections 2024. GLA
The article states "All agreed on compensation or new pastures" Of course there could be translating issues, but if you listen to the Mongolia tv interview it is clear (well if you listen carefully to what you can hear) that MB says regarding the herders that "they all accept its going to happen and they've all agreed to relocate". Listen at 2.30 minutes
Seems to be beyond debate to me.

"Some and very possibly most have agreed and settled"
I thought the interview said ALL have agreed to compensation or new land? i.e. it should be all done and dusted in this regard and onto the next excuse!
I think this was a little of MB giving the process a little kick up the back side. The buying of land or exchange for new land has started. Some and very possibly most have agreed and settled but i would reckon there are some who are dragging their feet and the local government is not pushing too hard. so i think this little interview was to let everyone know there is no alternative the rules are not about to change so concentrate on the game otherwise liable to get left behind. It is not done and dusted yet but MB feels it is very close hence the go ahead for the interview.
Not so much flying as plummeting! Good job daily SP movements don't matter.
Badprophet.
I agree ... really flying.
People can wait for the RNS then. After all we can all read the article/listen to the video and take what they want from it.
I agree that no, the article doesn't say "all obstacles are removed, we are producing imminently, but we are letting you know early before an RNS so that you can get in and buy at these cracy prices before its too late"
It does say,
"Our company and relevant regulatory bodies have contacted all herders whose pastures are affected by mining activities. Everyone agrees with us. All agreed on compensation or new pastures. Once we have taken all the necessary regulatory steps with the government, we will be able to resume operations".
If that's not the removal of a major stumbling block in your opinion and you want to wait for an RNS then that is your prerogative of course. Your money, your risk assessment.
But for me, I agree with those posters that recognise that the most worrying remaining factor appears to be settled. Even the FB activist isn't mentioning us and is focused on another issue and set of herders in Choibalsan soum.
£6000 bought in ONLY 90 minutes. This really is flying! PMSL
“ Drop doesn't make sense. I can sell 900k, but can't get price to buy 10k!”
Strong buying… that’s why the offer has been cut from 3.8p down to 3.6p!
WOS - enjoy your two week holiday. I know I sure will.

//"contracts" mean discussions in this. Very obvious Google translate issue from Mongolian if you follow dialogue (and background knowledge)//
It doesn't seem like a translation to me - more like MB's exact words?
BP, please watch your BP (no pun intended). High BP is good for no-one. :)
