That's an odd statement from Alfonso Durazo:
“It is necessary to complement the law with regulations to know more precisely how private companies could participate,” he declared.
Considering his stance over the last year, are they seeing the light of day?
Remember!
In January 2022, the Government of Serbia cancelled the spatial plan for the Jadar lithium-borates project and revoked our licences related to the proposed lithium-borates project.
We believe the Jadar project has the potential to be a world-class asset that could act as a catalyst for the development of other industries and tens of thousands of jobs for current and future generations in Serbia, while sustainably producing battery-grade lithium carbonate, a material critical to the energy transition.
We are focused on consultation with all stakeholders, including providing comprehensive factual information about the project. We believe that a public dialog based on facts is necessary to ensure that all options related to project’s future are considered.
We are also long-term landowners and have made commitments to the community and suppliers. We will continue to honour our obligations despite our permits and licenses being cancelled.

Serbia set to give green light to Rio Tinto lithium mine

I'm not so sure people got the story that wrong, BYD sponsoring the Euros, lithium projects taking off, just back from a long drive along the M1 and lost count of the commercial vehicles boasting they are electric, so the reason why I invested in the first place was for the right reasons, the outcome of course is yet to be concluded an unfinished chapter in a book with a few missing pages.
I'm not writing Sonora off just yet!
https://money.usnews.com/investing/news/articles/2024-06-18/ford-tests-shipping-cars-from-mexicos-guaymas-port-to-cut-logistics-costs
Sonora still has so much potential for the full battery supply chain, who knows lithium might still be exported form the port, it can have gone unnoticed Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil all getting lithium, battery and EV plants with government interest in projects:
https://www.mining.com/japan-chile-boost-ties-in-lithium-extraction-supply/#:~:text=Japan%20and%20Chile%20have%20agreed,in%20Chile%20and%20transferring%20skills.
The federal government's Sonora Plan also hopes to take advantage of the state's lithium resources, thought to be Mexico's largest.
Remember A_L.O tried to form an OPEC equivalent with the SA countries on lithium and now Mexico stands alone with no production on the horizon - Ganfeng could be producing within 18 months, plus Mexico have a need for battery storage that could be home produced with the right partner.
I feel for some of the people on this board. Like a massive chunk of this AIM garbage they were sold a dream which was based on hot air from a greedy fat controller who sailed off into the sunset and sold multiple other dreams under other different guises. The power of persuasion is crazy
Never thought we would be back down to these lows, just goes to show. After all the waffle from those so called experts, not the ones on this board by the way, just cannot believe anything .Just cant get the staff these days.

You can get litigation financing from Burford et al. so funding it should not be a big problem.

Navy seizes irregular convoy with 6 tons of manganese in AP
The Brazilian Navy seized an irregular convoy made up of a pusher and two ferries that were transporting a load of around 6 tons of manganese from Pará to the municipality of Santana (AP). The seizure took place on Sunday (9) on the Matapi River, in the municipality of Santana.
According to the Amapá Port Authority, among the irregularities found were irregularities that compromised the safety of navigation, such as the lack of dispatches and documentation of an expired vessel.
The Federal Police and Ibama were called to check the loads.
The Navy did not say where the cargo was being taken or its origin.
The captaincy has provided telephone numbers for complaints: Dial Emergency Maritimes and Rivers (185) and the Captaincy in Amapá (96) 3281-5480 or 99162-8039.

No Bike 🚲 ride, Bless him , some of the family joined the gathering further up m6. Still here still watching. Not worrying if it happens great if not another lesson learned . Enjoying the garden and family now and generally what’s left of our lives. Hope everyone is well an happy and making lots of money , don’t forget to live in the meantime! X
Spot on Banner, as Robbie Williams says:
I sit and wait
Does an angel contemplate my fate?
And do they know the places where we go
When we're grey and old?
'Cause I've been told
That salvation lets their wings unfold
So when I'm lying in my bed
Thoughts running through my head
And I feel that love is dead
I'm lovin' angels instead. 😄😄

I think now this has happened I am certain Sonora will be rectified, and to be fair to myself I did say something similar a few weeks ago here, as I always thought China would square things away with the Mexican govt. Now all we need is the useless BOD of this company to bolster the share price for us !
@Zoom56,
you might recall A_L.0 invited XI to see the Sonora plan last November - there never was a response, I think there's a possibility that the clown was so misguided no one was prepared to entertain him with his term ending in September 2024.
Alfonso Durazo has been doing the rounds trying to get investment and nothing indicating investment in lithium mining seems to be on the horizon.
I'm not overly confident in the new elected president 'to be' as she has throughout the last year or so been singing from the same hymn sheet as A_L.0 - but could be to get the voters on her side.
Still Sonora is the Saudi of lithium and recent news seems to show a great deal of interest in lithium - Chile are getting greedy from the state perspective.
And big oil taking an interest:
https://www.investors.com/news/warren-buffett-berkshire-hathaway-energy-occidental-lithium/
An added bonus is Trump is looking like he will never see the Whitehouse again from the inside, so no reversing the inflation reduction act and taking backhanders from big oil.
Claudia Sheinbaum gets the thumbs up from President Xi. I can’t see Ganfeng being sidelined if Xi sees closer trading ties with Mexico. After all China is Mexico’s second largest trading partner involving $123billion in trade in 2023.
https://english.news.cn/20240604/a052fd516f8a4bac9d01bad55a2c8064/c.html
“Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a message to Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, extending congratulations on her election as president of Mexico.
In his message, Xi pointed out that Mexico is a major country in Latin America and an important emerging market country, and that China and Mexico are comprehensive strategic partners.
China-Mexico relations have maintained sound development, and bear growing strategic significance, complementarity and mutual benefit, Xi said, adding that the relationship is in an important period of building on past achievements and forging ahead.
Xi also said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Mexico relations, and is willing to strengthen strategic communication with the president-elect to lead bilateral relations to a new level and bring more benefits to the two peoples.”
Interesting dynamics especially with US/ Tesla interest in Sonora Lithium. The question is where do we fit in when the dust settles?
Expressing interest from the US and China so close to the election results.
https://www.globaltimes.cn/page/202406/1313614.shtml
Wang said that Mexico possesses abundant lithium resource and faces a need for a green transformation in its petroleum and petrochemical sectors, which creates opportunities for cooperation between China and Mexico in mineral resource development and energy transition.
https://www.politico.com/news/2024/06/03/mexico-president-sheinbaum-california-climate-00161389
Garcia, who as chair of the Assembly Select Committee on California-Mexico Bi-National Affairs is hosting a hearing Wednesday on education and economic opportunities, said he sees an opportunity to expand cooperation on electric vehicles, particularly around lithium production. Sheinbaum has highlighted the state of Sonora’s lithium-rich clay deposits as ripe for extraction.
@Zoom56,
Xóchitl Gálvez, she would have been my choice being more aligned with private investment.
Opposition candidate Xóchitl Gálvez has warned that the legal dispute "is going to end badly" for the country, and lamented that two years after the legal reform that nationalized the white metal and led to the creation of state lithium company LitioMx, not a single gram has yet been extracted.
https://www.bnamericas.com/en/news/mexican-presidential-frontrunner-advocates-national-tech-to-extract-lithium
Still come September AMLO will have to handover the keys to the sweetshop - will the reality that Ganfeng are his best chance to see his legacy as the one who launched Mexican swing his past decisions?

MP-AP extends procedure to monitor execution of TAC of R$ 17 million benefiting Pedra Branca do Amapari and Serra do Navio
The resources were guaranteed by Anglo Ferrous Brazil to compensate for damage caused by the collapse of the Santana port terminal
Prosecutor Carolina Pereira de Oliveira, from the Public Ministry of Amapá (MP-AP), operating in the district of Pedra Branca do Amapari, extended for another year the administrative procedure for monitoring the Conduct Adjustment Term (TAC), 2022, established after the damage composition agreement signed in December 2019, in the public civil action records being processed in the Federal Court (JF), in which the business company ANGLO FERROUS BRAZIL SA, as a compensatory measure for possible environmental and social benefits resulting from the collapse of its port terminal in the city of Santana, allocated R$ 10 million to the municipality of Pedra Branca do Amapari, and R$ 7 million to the municipality of Serra do Navio for investment in social projects and public policy actions in the areas of education, culture, health and infrastructure.

Just a question not really bothered what the answer is though just one to ponder on yourself 🤔😁

Jimb2; just looking in the window from now on G L A
"Return the capital to shareholders". Don't be silly, it's worthles and even so, where else would they get their golden eggs from?
I will KM obviously knew it was a terrible deal but doing a rights issue or such would have cost a fair bit in fees and may not have been subscribed to as shareholders tend to sell out on the announcement and then you can buy on the market at that price so nobody participates so it contains more risks, so I don’t think it would have necessarily been a better situation. I’m more keen to know how the value of Amapa can be realised so shareholders can see some returns without further dilution.
Get it to 67% ore PFS and fully licensed and then sell it on (some or all) and return the capital to shareholders.

For me, news feed from Dev M on LinkedIn, progress, slow but sure, not news from KM
Given their track record of delivering/monetising nothing, what suggests a conclusion in the time frame you suggest? Seriously?
Over optimistic for sure, but, as things are going it does look like a conclusion coming next 18months to 2yrs. Would have loved a return sooner, but I like a few others will wait a bit longer,

• Potential for the mine and existing infrastructure to be brought to market swiftly with mining and processing anticipated to restart in 2021 subject to the grant of the necessary permits, regulatory consents and project financing.
"The Amapá Project gives Cadence the potential for an exceptional ROI in the run up to full production and an opportunity to become a significant shareholder in a mid tier iron ore producer. "
"As the project restarts operations, it is hoped it can move rapidly forward to revenue generation by Q4 2019, and to see the mine fully operational in 2021."

5 bob then
Well 20p would be a bit like pulling the Yellow and Black striped handle in front of the seat in my view....
.well if we're just going to throw numbers around why not £1 ...or better still £5 as a mod to the old 5p party .... but I'd settle happily for anything 20p plus & potentially with a bit of a grudge less .... however something's got to make it happen first .,. & fingers crossed Amapa doesn't turn to the dust everything else has so far or we'll be walking away with empty pockets
Should we all be posting that we’d accept 50p, just incase @Bannor…
LoL - I suspect you're very much in the minority @KLUCK17 but cheers - everything I say though is only my opinion based on what i can see & assess so should be taken with a very large pinch of salt....
...as a note of caution my record on decision making even with all the available facts & information available at the time I made choices is not necessarily great ..... as my collection of 'ex wives' are a testament to 😂 ....
One thing I definitely got right though was years ago when we had 12bn pre consolidation shares in issue & I said the way our BoD were performing we'd end up with over 20bn shares in issue & here we are (post consolidation) with well in excess of that number when you take the warrants into account.... Ho hum ....😁
