In feb 2022 there was a death cross (50 day moving average crosses 200 day moving average) at about 16p . This was a definite indicator to sell and I'm sure gotreal was telling everybody to sell up at that time. The sp had already dropped 27% by this point and continued to fall another 71% from that point onwards.
The sp has risen 65% so far from the bottom and now we have the golden cross, the opposite signal. Hopefully we can look forward to 2 years of continuous rise from here like we saw with the 2 years of continuous fall after the death cross.
That's why i'm in fully now.
The sooner they release an update on Roan the sooner we can all be at ease and participate in this MASSIVE COPPER RALLY that we are currently missing out on. While other new producers like Copper 360 are up 100 percent
although gray is right - hands down. i for one was not expecting any copper modules to be under construction yet.
from the placing rns:
"pay the initial payment of us$1.75 million, due under the agreement for the acquisition of the copper waste rock dump announced on 12 december 2023 detailed above and progress resource and process design (a total of c.us$4.5m).
· expand the sulphide recovery circuits at the company's sable refinery to accommodate increased sulphide concentrate production from newly acquired projects (c.us$5.7m).
· progress the project development phase of the mufulira **** project, with early-stage bulk trial and processing (c.us$2.5m).
· for general working capital purposes."
just expecting them to be planning, as stated, and hoping they were ordering the long lead items but not sure they will have. mufulira finance as above.
the one thing i've always been sure of is the last point - for general working capital purposes, i have no doubt that this has been actioned, given the delay and then another delay.
not being negative - being realistic. not de-ramping - i now own more jlp shares than i have ever done before.
manage expectations - i value jlp at 17p with a $3800 copper margin (it's more than that now) - nothing for the waste rock project in there as i see it as a medium term project i.e. coming into it's own in 18 months time.
Too quick for me Seisnav:)
"Jubilee has the capability to construct and commission all modular copper units within a 12-month period and aims to commence within Q1 CY2024"
Dec12th RNS. That says to me they aim to commence in Q1 2024. So they should have started then or didn't they. If they didn't then they missed that deadline:)
Apologies, it was stated in December that:
"· Jubilee has the capability to construct and commission all modular copper units within a 12-month period and aims to commence within Q1 CY2024."
So they may or may not have started 🤔
The information in December 2023 that we were given is that "the capacity to manufacture 3 modules at once".
At the moment, there is one module being costructed at Thutse. By my reckoning, that could mean that 2 modules have been manufactured in South Africa and are ready to be deployed to Zambia.
The number of modules to come (of varying sizes - that we've been told about so far) is seven. There were 4 modules for the WRP, 2 for Thutse and 1 for Munkoyo. Another small module for the new small open pit. Maybe additional ones will be requiredfor the WRP or the open pit projects.
It would be nice to think that the capacity had been increased.
Either way, although Roan is delayed, the WRP is not delayed because we haven't had a schedule published!
Gotreal:)
You are making it up, Gray.... 😉
We'll see if it isn't running by October then they missed it:)
The building of the first module under the IRH deal isn't a major event then. I seem to remember many on here dancing for joy when it was announced.
They missed it Gotreal just accept it. They mention the IRH deal in every RNS. It's a major event they see it as that as well.
YOU see it as a major event.... they may not. And why would they need to decide on the locations of the modules before ordering them? They are two unrelated activities... nothing dictates anything... it is all just your opinion.
They did say that the Waste Rock project was expected to kick off in Q1 CY24 but they didn’t say that module construction would start then (unless I’m mistaken). There’s work to do on surveying the site and defining the resource which is presumably going on now. I’m not expecting construction on those modules to commence until later this year, maybe after the Thutse module construction is completed. That’s unless the manufacturer is planning to increase production capacity.
Gotreal,
"As per the agreement with IRH, Jubilee is undertaking a detailed resource definition to confirm the material reclamation strategy and location of the targeted processing units."
Taken from April 18th RNS in what part of that can you interpret that they have ordered a module and it will be producing in 6 months. They haven't even decided on location at that point.
This date is after the end of Q1 therefore logic dictates they missed the Q1 deadline.
It is a major event for the company it should have an RNS to give dates and timelines if not then it is bad communication by the company and an own goal for the pr dept. They did it for the Thutse modules why would the copper modules be a secret?
No, I am pointing out the false logic of you claiming that because you HAVEN'T been told that they have been started , that they haven't .... I am afraid too many people are prone to this .
When did they put out that they had started one? Don't you think that is massive news module ordered and an expected completion time?
What are you saying Gotreal? We can expect production from module one in Q3 this year then?
"Even the modules are late should have been started in Q1 this year and we are already half way through quarter 2." How do you know they haven't been ....??
Hello,
Been away for a few days still awaiting news I see. Continual delays and failing to hit targets doesn't inspire confidence Shuvlin. It is understandable that it breeds some negativity. Even the modules are late should have been started in Q1 this year and we are already half way through quarter 2.
However next years expected production of pgms and chrome underpins the sp higher than where we are today and both processes are well established with potential growth in both. Copper is the icing on the cake.
Are you listening Ardbeggar?
Cmon Roan
There is a lot of ignorant b*110cks being talked on here as if jlp was going to fail anytime soon. People trying to get some lower prices for themselves perhaps. whatever tripe they are serving up I don't think Slater will be selling anytime soon for a small delay in delivery of machinery. everything else is already proven.
I'm pretty sure everyone in JLP will be doing their very best to get Roan cranked up to maximum output asap!
Well if there is a negative reaction to a small delay people will be cutting their own noses off. More fool them. Just on Chrome alone and rising PGM prices this will rerate.
I have mixed feelings on JLP and copper. One the one hand, Roan has seemed to have taken far too long to get going. On the other hand, we have probably been buying copper feed a lot cheaper than if we bought it at current copper prices and it looks like Roan is going to be producing significant amounts just as the copper price is taking off, maximising profits.
I think with the price of copper rocketing there is going to be even more pressure for there to be positive news end of may. Bad news or a delay I think will result in a negative reaction
People waiting on the side lines may get caught out. Once it's known more widely that JLP are copper producers as well as PGM's this should rerate. Platinum $1028

Copper's gone bonkers.
