Very simplistic as no timescale is mentioned. Tech companies take years to develop making absolutely no profit at all. If we were digging a mine it might take 10 years before we saw one but we would still have investors. It could also be said that profits have been generated in SA but it has become necessary to move from that model to this one and that has taken a considerable amount of effort, engineering now how and capital. Hopefully most of the latter has now been applied so the test is how long before we see profits from this point onwards.

It depends on whether they are for input that relates to value creation in a direct sense. If it is for technical expertise or engineering it may well be deserved. It would help of course if we knew who was granted them but highly unlikely to find out.

Trump has done a good job of talking down the oil price but reality will set in slowly. Oil will be moving back above $80 toward 100 at least for a few months.
